Do you mean a podcast or a spotify playlist.

FourEyesGood · 26/09/2022 17:49

Making running playlists on Spotify is the most fun thing about running! But if you’d like some ready-made ones, just search ‘running playlists’ on Spotify. If it’s actually podcasts you’re after, they tend to be spoken word rather than music (and many people do prefer to run to talky podcasts because the beat of music can be too restrictive).

My favourite running songs include ‘Standing in the way of Control’ by Gossip and ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’ by the Communards.

Sorry should've explained myself better... song playlists

Podcasts I have loads to work through but I like music to get me going & music towards the end

I download radio 1 workout anthem podcasts.

Everylittlethingsgonnabealright · 26/09/2022 19:39

Have you got Amazon Prime? There are quite a few workout/running playlists on Amazon Music which are included with Prime.

Ronnie1234 · 26/09/2022 20:53

@Everylittlethingsgonnabealright yes I've got Amazon prime that's what I was thinking of using

What kind of music do you like?

Theimpossiblegirl · 26/09/2022 22:17

I search running musicals on Spotify but that's not going to be to everyone's taste. I love running to big up tempo musical theatre numbers.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 27/09/2022 08:36

I hate to be that person but if it’s on a road check that headphones are actually allowed. It’s a condition of a lot of races licence/risk assessment that they aren’t.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 27/09/2022 08:38

Surely it depends what music you like? For example I like to run to System of A Down and Iron Maiden. Other people might prefer Rhythm is a Dancer or something Cascada-y. 🤣

fellrunner85 · 27/09/2022 09:14

As a pp said - definitely check if headphones are allowed. In most road races they're not, ime.

And yes, it really depends on what music you like, how fast you're running, and what you're in the mood for. My running tunes really vary by bpm depending on if I'm doing a fast tempo run or a longer slog.

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 27/09/2022 09:16

What race is it? I find the race atmosphere far better than music for getting me going on the day. Otherwise you might as well just run around the park with your headphones on and save the entry fee
