Training for a half (my second) following a training plan (on internet 3 runs a week)
However lots of instagrammers are promoting run easy to run faster on race day etc etc what are peoples thoughts on that?
My long runs are based on slowing down some weeks for endurance run & some weeks running at 30 more than target half marathon pace the week has 2 'training' runs which could be intervals or speed or hills etc

Run your long runs slow and do speed/ paced work on shorter runs.
Most programmes will state the type of run intended rather than only target milage/ time.
