I'm toying with idea of getting neoprene to do winter paddling in warm-enough comfort. The sizing is driving me crazy. Typically the only number given is waist : does 28-29" waist really make me a size 14/16 in neoprene pants? Would that definitely accommodate my 38" hips? Seems like I definitely need womens fit, too, I can't find a drawstring men's item that would accommodate 38" hips & not gap hugely at my waist.
Neoprene "Sauna pants" are sold widely and seem like they could suit (half length is especially attractive), but I'm wondering if they are designed only to make you sweat, not actually move. Any experience with using these in winter sport?
I could take a few hours to drive somewhere, try on various products, and pay 3-7x the online price to get something that is right fit. Before I resort to that, I just wondered if anyone was experienced at buying neopene items online & could suggest how to get a decent fit when buying online. Thanks in advance.
