Pilates, yoga or something else for arthritis

I am 50 and have early stages of arthritis in my hands and knees. I don’t do any exercise apart from long walks most weekends. I don’t need to lose weight but do want to start doing more to build muscle and tone as I have read it can help support joints and is good for helping with arthritis.

Anyone got any experience of yoga or Pilates helping with arthritis? Or any other low impact exercise?

I feel way to young to have arthritis :(

I'm 48 and have an arthritic condition. I do yoga and it helps but in my case I need to stretch my back. I'd be careful with poses that put weight on those joints. Maybe get a few 1:1 sessions with an experienced teacher? Swimming is the thing that helps my flares most. Not so much swimming but hydrotherapy exercises.

Can I join in for tips too? My feet are suddenly really sore, and am concerned!

Yoga and swimming definitely help me keep on top of osteoarth.

Have been trialling turmeric capsules to very good effect - less pain.

About to start rosehip oil capsules after reading a medical article suggesting it helps improve pain for 7 in 10 people in 3 weeks…

Definitely feel worse if I stop walking for 3 days
