My poor nipples

My nipples are in absolute agony. They're not bleeding but honestly feel like they've been rubbed with sandpaper Sad I have been doing a lot more walking lately in an effort to get fitter. That said, I have walked quite a bit in the past and not had this problem so maybe it's not the walking that's causing it? (I'm 48, is it peri?) I do have very, ahem, prominent nipples but when I've searched on google it appears to only be a problem with men because women can wear a good tight fitting sports bra. I do! But this has still happened. I don't want to stop the walking, I enjoy it. Do I use just vaseline? Put plasters over them before I head out? Invest in something else? Help!

Men's nipples bleed quite often when they run long distances because their t-shirt rubs up and down on them. If you're wearing a sports bra and they still sore then it suggests your bra isn't supportive enough and your boobs are jiggling about in it. I would try vaseline and reassess your bra - wear it in front of a mirror and walk up and down to see how much movement there is, or get a family member to film it.

I do already wear a good tight-fitting sports bra. I'm not large in the boob at all actually! but I have very prominent nipples and I think maybe with it being so much warmer lately and the extra walking I'm doing it's culminated in my boobs being hotter/sweatier and this is maybe what's caused the chafing? I have ordered Lanacane anti chafing cream and hoping that will do the trick. I saw little plasters/covers that you can buy but that's going to work out expensive and not great for the environment. Any other tips or tricks appreciated.

What about reusable breast pads? Normally used for breast/chestfeeding but might work. They're disks of cotton usually. Could put vaseline on them as a barrier

OH uses BodyGlide on his. I've seen him come back from long runs with them bleeding.

It's a stick (like a deodorant stick) and you just rub it on before you go out.

Solves it for him.

What about trying lasinoh nipple cream (meant for breast feeders).
