…when do you eat?
I need to find more slots in my life for exercise but I get hangry….
Yet, where I live, there still seem to be a lot of people out running now - around 8pm.
if you do this - when do you eat dinner???

Typically between work and exercise I will have a small, protein only snack. Then I’ll exercise, and have dinner when I get home.

Believeitornot · 26/06/2022 20:14

6pm. Or a bigger lunch and a snack early evening

RestingPandaFace · 26/06/2022 20:16

I cannot run on a full stomach, so I either go very first thing, or I make dinner, then go out running and eat mine when I get back.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/06/2022 20:16

I tend to go out 8pm ish, and eat when I get back. I only go for 30-40 mins though.

I’ll have a snack at 6pm whe I give the DC their tea.

MsOllie · 26/06/2022 20:21

I don't have DC so that makes it easier
I have a work break at 3pm ish so have a banana or something then
Finish work at 6 and then change and straight to the bike. Shower and eat around 7.30pm

I switch my meals around and have a substantial breakfast, "dinner" at lunchtime (usually something batch cooked at home that can go in the microwave) and porridge when I get in from work. Then run about 40ins later. I find I can run on porridge when I wouldn't run on a meal iyswim.

Then I'll have a glass of milk or yogurt and some nuts when I get in.

By substantial breakfast I mean a sandwich and fruit, or maybe an omlette, the kind of thing I might otherwise have for lunch.

I need at least 2, preferably 3 or more hours between last meal and extensive exercise. so usually I go for a run before dinner. around 6pm or so.

lighter exercise I can do after dinner.

trilbydoll · 26/06/2022 20:30

I can eat a decent lunch, then a child size portion at 5.30 with dc and run at 8pm. Or I can eat 2 pieces of toast at 6am and run at 7am. But no dairy, it is a guaranteed stitch for some reason.

I cycle my commute which means I get an hour of cardio every weekday without trying to find extra time. The bonus is, it’s cheaper and faster than taking my car,

I eat cereal for breakfast and then a salad or fruit and oats for lunch. I get in around 1800 and three evenings a week, I do a 30-45min HIIT workout before showering and then cooking. We eat about 8pm, but we don’t have any kids.

We also usually do several hours of exercise for fun at the weekends (mountain biking, trail running or hiking).

Scarydinosaurs · 27/06/2022 06:05

If I exercise late I don’t eat after and just have a protein shake.

cannaethink · 27/06/2022 10:45

If it’s cardio I do it at 5pm as soon as I’ve finished work, then cook after.
If it’s weights or kettlebells I’ll eat at 6pm and exercise at 8pm.
Either way, I’m eating at 6/6.30.

I eat a big lunch, and don't eat supper most days - I usually have Greek yoghurt and fruit. I prefer to eat breakfast & lunch, and not much in the evening.
