I've been looking at both these trainers on YouTube and trying to decide which programme to do. I have previously done some of sydneys workouts but never a full months programme and just quite randomly. I really like her and like how she talks all the way through and encourages you.

I have also heard a lot of good things about Caroline though but watched some of her videos and she doesn't seem to talk when doing the exercises so don't know if I will get bored?

Has anyone worked out with both and have a preference? And any recommendations for which programme to start with? I would say I am reasonably fit and used weights before and my goal is to feel healthier, gain strength and also improve cardio fitness.

I prefer Sydney (although she's just gone on maternity leave, but you can obviously do some of her older programmes). I like that she talks through the workout so I don't have to constantly watch the screen to work out when to start and stop and that she gives hints as to correct form. I also like that she tends to give different options to make the exercise harder or easier. I'm currently working through her Summertime Fine 2.0 programme which has a mix of styles.

I found Caroline's silence just a bit unnerving, though appreciate this is personal preference. And, as someone who is keen but not super fit/able - frankly her workouts were just so hard that I couldn't do a lot of them! But sounds like that might not be so much of an issue for you.

I guess I'd suggest trying both and seeing which you prefer :)

Have you tried any Bodyfit by Amy workouts? She talks quite a bit, but doesn't get on my nerves. I get bored easily doing workouts but I find hers fly by. She does monthly calendars as well.

I've been doing Caroline girvan since lockdown started and I couldn't go to the gym. She is great - loads of free workouts on YouTube, I like the fact she doesn't talk, structured exercise programmes. I haven't needed to go back to the gym.
