Step counter / Apple watch

I’m looking to get one of these watches, mainly to use for a step counter and to tell the time, but thinking that being able to check texts/emails without rooting through my bag for my phone would be good too.
I don’t like the look of the plastic/rubber style straps as I know I’d get a sweat rash under it.
So what would you suggest watch wise and strap wise ? Thanks.

Apple Watch have a large range of straps available.
The Nike sports bands used to make me sweaty and at risk of a rash, but I currently use the braided loop which I've not had any issues with.
I wasn't sure what the sizes loop would be like, but prefer it to the ones with adjustable holes. It's slightly loose in its normal position on my wrist, but I can move it up to a slightly tighter fit and it still be comfortable.

I've got the Velcro strap with the Apple Watch. It's perfect for sport and I wear it every day. The rubber ones and metal ones I know would have irritated my skin!

I use a scrunchie strap for sport and exercise. Might not be to all tastes but is very comfortable. I have a few different straps from rubber to metal.

You can get alternate straps for both Apple Watch and Fitbits.

Most fitbits, you can check your messages from the watch (versa screen is pretty good for it, and has extra features) but can't reply like on an Apple Watch.

Depends how much you want to spend. And the size. Some of the fitbits are slimmer so I prefer the comfort of mine being less bulky (the versa is about the same as the Apple Watch though, so I didn't go for it, in the end).

I loved my Apple Watch but my Fitbit feels more comfy for day to day.

I have an Apple Watch. Very handy - I went for the small size watchface and also knew I'd hate the strap so just ordered a slim leather strap from Amazon. Pretty cheap and still going strong 2 years later!

I've got the Amazon knock off of the braided loop, you can pick them up for under £10 and they are much more comfortable than the silicone strap.

I love my Apple Watch and have a gold strap on it so it looks quite dressy. I love all the daft apps - knowing my altitude for instance. It’s great to be able to control my music when out for a walk without having to get my phone out.
