Recommend me cross training footwear please

I've been running for a long time and wearing Brooks Ghost shoes which are perfect for me. I have changed to spinning and classes now (body pump and legs/core) and want to get back into weight lifting so the brooks feel a bit unwieldy. If you do this type of cross training, what shoes do you wear? I'm a bit confused by so many online reviews. 😅

I have a pair of Innov8 f-lites that I use for spin and weights. They’re zero heel drop and minimal cushioning and make such a different compared to wearing running trainers. I wear them on the cross trainer but I couldn’t run in them, I don’t think they’ve ever even stepped foot outside!

If you are doing weight lifting as a separate session then you want flat shoes, I wear converses. But I also do deadlifts in just my socks,

I did dig out my converse actually, I might try them since i have them. The innov8s look like what I had in mind. I'm trying to do some weights followed by spin class so one pair of shoes that suits both would be very useful!

You need something with zero drop. I use and old pair of adidas gazelles!

I use Nike Metcons, very supportive round the ankle and have a separate insert to lift heels slightly for squats which is great if you have less ankle flexibility. If you don't use those they're flat so perfect for deadlifts as well.

I do pump in a very flat pair of sketchers. Or barefoot.

I like a Nike running shoe for combat though

I’m wondering about the Nike Metcons. But my sessions are usually half weightlifting and half intense metcon training, often including running quite/very fast.

Has anyone used the Nike Metcons for this sort of cross-training in one session?
