Oh my word... so after my 'brisk walk' thread I decided my new goal would be to lower my 5k time with a bit of jogging. Off I went, and did the first 5k of a 9 k walk/jog in 40 mins and 58 seconds which was great. Or so I thought.

What's with this urge to pee while running 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. Mortified to say they was a bit of a, errr. dribble.

What the hell??

What do I do oh wise ones?

Pelvic floor exercises. With focus, regularly. download the nhs Squeezy app and do 3 sets/day until you’re dry, then once a day forever.

if that doesn’t work you can look into trying a pessary (I think contiform are specially for stress urinary incontinence but I’m not much help as my issue is my actual bladder coming out, rather than wee from my actual bladder, so my pessary is a different shape), or EVB support shorts (I wear these for prolapse support when running, and some women say they help with SUI. But they are a million pounds and might not help so try kegels first!)

It does get better the more you run. Running has really helped my bladder control generally. Until you get to that point wear a pad or period pants and wear a long top or tie something round your waist. Wear black too.

It will get better.

Visit GP. Try an electric pelvic floor exerciser. Sounds like urge incontinence?

Short term period or incontinence underwear.

Back to GP? There's a medicine that might help if its stress incontinence or irritable bladder

However, if a urologist is recommending intervention of that kind, then perhaps it's necessary. If you're not sure, get a second opinion.

I take it you've cut out caffeine, fags and alcohol?

OReillyTheOneEyedTelescope · 30/07/2022 10:57

Are you sure it's pee? If it is, definitely up the pelvic floor exercises. I get discharge when I run but it appears to be from my vagina (lucky me!) which is apparently not uncommon at our age (oh who would be a woman! I'm 49 btw).

Pepperjojo · 06/09/2022 22:50

Hey , thanks for replying , I have only just seen this ….sorry
yes I have cut everything out now . I think surgery is the only thing left ……

Itreallyistimetogo · 06/09/2022 22:53
