Has anyone tried these weighted hula hoop things? I'm wanting to try and loose weight around my waist but don't want another useless bit of kit that I throw away after a week.

Giving this a little bump as I'm toying with getting one too and would love to know if they are any good

Yes, I bought one of these, thinking I'd use it in 5min spurts (this only happens now and again when I remember!) You need space for the weight that flys around. It's also noisy! I found the first few times I used it I bruised! (It's better on your waist and tighter, rather than hips).

Have you noticed any "improvements"?

I used to hoop classes and I wouldn’t get a weighted hoop. It can cause damage to your back even without the weight so you need to be careful. General hooping can help you tone up.

Unfortunately not, I think 5mins spurts of cardio or ab exercises etc. Would make more difference.
Interesting about backs, makes sense!

@Justalittlebitfurther that does make sense! Thanks for the warning
