Hi, i used to do competive sport ( badmington) I fell and fractured my knee unbe known to me. I had pain off and on for 18 years until a bit of bone came into the cavity and i could not starighten the knee.!
I had surgery 5 years ago and was told
The middle of patella has fallen out.
The rest is like a polo mint with a fracture running down one bit.
If it breakes down further i will probably need patella removed.
The surgeon said he thought id be back in for surgery in 2 years.
No lunging / impact exercises.
Ive given up a sport I love and travelled round playing.
I cant run , or do jumping exeecise.
Ive got really unfit without my x3 a week sessions.
I cant swim , the knee really hurts( like a stab pain) and i cant bounce or do ant impact on knee.
The leg around.the knee is weak as ive been compensating for years to avoid pain by throwing the hip so as not to bend knee.
I saw gp nurse last week and for first time in life i have high bp. I asked what exercise i could do and she said to google upper body exercise.
Is there anything anyone can suggest please..? I want to het fitter plus inc heart rate.
I can walk and dance. However, when i do either my knee can swell up. I then need to rest it . This is random and has no pattern .. ie i can do.a.long walk amd be fine, but then another day a short one and not.so fine.
