Insanity beach body

Hey guys! WinkI know insanity & other beach body workouts are old now but when I previously did T25 & Insanity sone years ago they really worked. I've been yo-yo ing in weight the last couple years, btwn 10-11 stone, when previously I was 9.5 & was stressed that I was nearly approaching 9.75! Then bang! One day I was 10.5 st. Lol
So the weight just appeared & now wont shiftConfused. I've been doing slim fast on & off over the past year or so but it's not been great (results last year for a short time but nothing lately). Also I have a peloton bike as I love spin classes but I'm not motivated to use regularly at home unfortunately. So, I think I need to get back on the harder core scheduled exercise.

Just wondering if anyone is doing insanity currently? (Or T25/PX90 etc!). An exercise partner to keep me accountable would be great! SmileI'm planning to start tomorrow.

Hi @Shazz20 are you still there and have you started? I have just started T25 again, 4 days in and my knees are feeling it so having an early rest day!
I’ve done a fair few Beachbody programmes over the years - P90X, 21 day fix, Piyo, body beast.. I still find it the best option for me. I have never been brave enough to do insanity but if I survive this I might give it a go! my weight is fine but would like to lose some inches.

Morning!!! Ahhh amazing well done!! Starting is always the hardest part for me! I did actually start - did a 3 day streak and then (unfortunately!?) it was my birthday over the long weekend, so that didn't go well as no exercise & lots of yummy food & alcohol lolHmm. But that was as I'd expected but wanted to start last week anyway rather than procrastinate further!
So back at it again - today will be day 2 again so fingers crossed I do a class today.
I've done T25 a few times too & find it much more effective than spin for example! I must say though, insanity isn't actually as bad as I thought it would be! Truly Grin it's just a bit longer at approx 45 mins per class.
Anyway! Well done again & let's do this today! WinkSmile

I've done Insanity a few times and many other BB programmes. There was a thread on here of people following various programmes on BeachBody which would be good support.

I mix it up now as I've done the whole programmes I like a few times through. I tend to do single workouts from Liift4, Insanity, P90, Morning Meltdown and a few others depending on what I want to work and what mood I'm in.

ShowOfHands · 05/05/2022 09:04

I don't use it for weight loss though, more for muscle mass, shape and cardio fitness. Keeping my weight steady in my 40s is about the kitchen not the workout.

Hiya!!!Smile
Ahhh very interesting! Well done for using it on an adhoc basis! I wouldn't be consistent enough - it has to be all or nothing for me unfortunately ConfusedBlush

I did try searching for a related thread before I posted, to help me with accountability lol, but couldn't seem to find one Confused I'm not great at using this app tbh though (but it does need a bit of an update hehehe), so maybe I missed it.

What are you currently doing for exercise/health/cardio?

As you have a Peloton, have you tried the bike bootcamps? I think they're a great full body workout.

LostFrog · 05/05/2022 21:22

@Shazz20 Aargh ran out of time today so going to have to do two tomorrow Blush. I swear one rest day always turns into two. How are you getting on?
@ShowOfHands you are right about the diet stuff. I know this, and yet have still eaten 8 chocolate digestives today.

Hiya! I haven't actually! That's such a good point though as I always just pick the 'normal' spin classes & nothing extra. I do hate boot camps though - find them hard 😰so I've probably avoided these too haha . Maybe I'll try one in the coming week - it may be that bit more cardio that I need! Smile
Is that what u usually do?

Think this is officially another rest day for me too 🙁 - didn't finish work till half 8 & now I'm sat down so tired with no energy . So I think tomorrow for me to. Do you usually do 2 the next day if you've skipped a day?? Sooooo good of you! Hmmm I should consider but that sounds a hard one, esp if I'm doing insanity lol. Maybe I just make sure I do a long class & not one of the short ones..

& I had (quite!) a few black pepper cracked crackers too todayBlushBlush . So moreish so I just keep having '1 more'. Oops lol

LIIFT4 is my favourite - I’ve done T25 and P90X before - but since starting LIIFT4 over a year ago I’ve not done anything else!

nbee84 · 05/05/2022 22:16

@Shazz20 I do about 3 bootcamps a week - usually 45mins or an hour and intermediate or advanced level. I tend to do the ones that use weights though there are bodyweight ones too. Jess is my favourite instructor. Cody is fun and usually a bit easier.
On the other days I do spin - sometimes an intervals and arms class and I have Les Mills too so do body pump. I have no particular set routine and I see what I feel like doing each day but do try and get a good mix of strength work in so it's not all cardio.

Insanity is one of the first serious home workout programs. Even though its been around a while, few can rival the intensity and results. Insanity remains at the top of the charts for home fitness and is the undisputed calorie burning king.

LostFrog · 06/05/2022 18:07

Think I will just stick to one actually!!
just done T25 Lower Focus and legs are like jelly!!
@Scarydinosaurs I really wanted to like Liift4 but I think I prefer to split cardio days and weights days so it didn’t work for me. I do like Joel though. Also tried MBF but she is SO annoying!! Nothing beats P90X for me but who has an hour plus a day?! And the pull ups! 😱

For the last couple of years I have mixed and matched so Monday is cardio, Tues is Shoulders/Arms etc etc and I just pick a workout from any BB programme that does the job.

Quite looking forward to following a proper calendar again if I can stick to it, although I’m pretty sure I wasn’t working full time when I last did it, nor did we have a puppy…
