Spin Bike

I have inherited a spin bike similar to this

It seems to have more of a racing bike saddle. Will I need padded shorts or can I get away without?

I think whatever saddle you have you will end up with a sore bum (known as bikers bot in this house ) for a few rides even if you use padded shorts or a gel cover. It's just a case of using muscles and putting pressure on an area that's not used to it and improves as you do get used to it.
