Just looking for recommendations for squat proof leggings that don't cost a fortune. Ideally ones that do well with a shrinking body as I'm losing baby fat gain atm too.

Don’t laugh but I got some from Next that are fab. Really quite “thick” so not see through, supportive, comfy, very stretchy.

I achieved my PB squatting in them 😆

Sidge · 01/04/2022 12:20

I can’t find the exact ones online but they are Next Active high waisted leggings.

broccolibush · 01/04/2022 12:22

USA pro from sports direct are thick, squat proof and cheap.

Liverbird77 · 01/04/2022 12:23

Yes! I have two amazing pairs from Next. They are really old but I Iove them!
I also rate USA Pro. They are atrocious for running and constantly slip down but they are spot on when I am lifting weights. So comfy!

i like \link{https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-airism-uv-protection-soft-active-leggings-with-pockets-439171COL67SMA006000.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIornB9eDy9gIVDZntCh3GHARUEAQYBSABEgK4hPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds\these from Uniqlo} really soft

Stellaris22 · 01/04/2022 13:13

I am a huge fan of Good Move by M and S. I am also trying to lose weight so don't want to spend lots on leggings. I gave Souluxe by Matalan a go as they are high waisted and have two pockets, they've been fab for barbell squats, good mornings, LBT and Pump classes.

Chely · 01/04/2022 13:39

Great stuff, I will have a look at those. Thanks all

Try MyProtein - they are very good and completely squat proof. Also Dare 2Be are excellent - really good fit and a good stretch. Neither brands are see through and both wash and dry brilliantly.

Next are ok....the stretch and see-thoroughness can be hit and miss though which is frustrating.

Gymshark leggings are so soft - make sure you get high waisted though for the most comfort and best stretch.

The M&S fitness stuff is the biggest waste of money ever.....it's unflattering, uncomfortable and doesn't last - personally I'd swerve that if you're planning on serious gym time and squatting/lifting. It's ok for an aerobics class but doesn't stand up against other brands at all.

Always look for a 4way stretch - they'll stretch better and keep their shape longer

Joyspel high waisted leggings from Amazon

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 01/04/2022 20:37

Sweaty Betty leggings are good and slightly less extortionate if bought in one of their sales.

ArtVandalay · 01/04/2022 20:40

Sweaty Betty all the way. You can usually get 20% off.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 01/04/2022 20:44

@broccolibush

This. If I can do yoga in USA pro leggings, you can do squats in them.
FrenchMustard · 04/04/2022 16:02

another vote for sweaty betty, well worth the money and they are super flattering

Allthesefolks · 04/04/2022 16:07

I like the Born Nouli ones when they have 20-30% off. They’re long though so I prefer the 7/8 ones.

emmathedilemma · 04/04/2022 16:40

tikiboo if you don't mind mad patterns

Usernamehell · 04/04/2022 17:02

I asked a few months back about M&S vs Sweat Betty. Tried both and have been using for 3 months so far. I honestly love them as much as each other. Sweaty Betty are slightly softer but as far as value goes, can't beat M&S, especially as I bought all mine in the sale for less than half price.

Both have been worn twice a week for strength training and washed absolutely fine, no signs of going see through anywhere yet.
