Anyone use Pea Protein?

I do keep fit classes and the instructor suggests I try pea protein to increase my protein intake.

There are so many brands - I’m not keen on flavoured powders - just something that’s not got loads of weird and wonderful ingredients.

Does anyone use one and have suggestions of a good brand?

I have used the pea protein from Purition as was trying to reduce my dairy intake. They are a great company and I usually really like their shakes, there’s nothing nasty in them but I have to admit I really didn’t love the Pea Protein.

I use vivolife shakes. They’re really tasty with coconut milk

Have you tried just eating peas?

All I am saying is “Give peas a chance!”

I use the Paulson one. It’s flavourless so quite good for stirring into soups or porridge for a bit of extra protein. It’s pretty low on protein though compared to the whey based powders but they really don’t agree with me.

Why pea protein?

My protein do unflavoured pea and soy protein powders. I like their vegan blend protein, they do unflavoured in that. They do hemp and brown rice protein too but I haven't tried those.

There's some good info on protein powders here:

Is there a particular reason you need extra protein? It's fairly easy to get enough protein from food with a normal healthy diet (most people eat more than the RDA without even trying/knowing), and excess protein just gets weed out, our body doesn't store it for future use. Unless you are doing some pretty elite training, protein powder is kind of pointless.

I like the My Protein pea protein powder. It’s unflavoured and I order it online

So much cheaper to produce food from powders manufactured in factories than fresh food. Fresh food? Whats that?! Who needs it! Ha Ha Haaaa. Good luck..

Oh and before anyone says they are making it for our health, animal welfare of the environment..they are not. They are doing it for profit. Those reason are all good but there are other ways to eat healthily without resorting to heavily processed anything...IMHO
