I'm running my first half marathon race 27th March
Tapering now
Did two easy runs last week & 6 miles this morning
Best advice for the week ahead please? I usually do 2 cardio/run sessions a week & 3 weight sessions plus my wkend long run ... shall I drop the weight sessions to lighter weights or just mobility
Newbie racer here!!

I'd keep moving and go light. You want to feel fresh on race day, and cutting out too much can make you too sluggish. Reduce the milage again and have an extra rest day in the second half of the week.

Good luck and enjoy!

Everyone is so individual, it’s hard to know. I would do easy runs to keep legs moving, but I think I would have done a long run this weekend also, just really easy.

Keep the same pattern and number of sessions, just lower the intensity. So perhaps lighten your weights, and then do a couple of 3-4 mile runs during the week, as well as a few strides on Saturday just to turn your legs over.

Which half are you doing, and are you aiming for a time? Good luck!
