Belt for marathon running

Can any marathon/ultra runners recommend me a lightweight belt for gels, for a road race?

I don't need to carry water so don't need an ultra vest - I want something light and minimalist for a (hopefully) fast road race. I don't like Flipbelts as they ride up..

Thanks in advance!

www.spibelt.co.uk - absolutely love my spibelt, it doesn’t budge even when crammed full of snacks and my phone! It looks tiny but stretches. It behaves the same whether it’s only got a couple of gels in or half my life 😂 I have the double pocket one. Good luck with your race!

I like these Decathlon trail shorts - £20 with two decent zip pockets front and back, then mesh open pockets on each side
Can fit an iPhone in either zip pocket and gels in the other or in the mesh pockets

I have a basic vest for longer runs but when it's hot, I don't like the extra layer on my top half so these shorts are a better alternative IMO - wash well too

Thanks @Chocolateteabag but I'm very specific about race day kit, hence the belt - those would be good for training though, I bet Smile

Yes, @AuntieStellathat's just the thing. Thank you! Have you tried it?

Not that one.

I have a very minimalist tri-belt (which is basically just elastic with some loops!) and I thought this one looked better! It's a decent make, so worth a try?

I'm not so fast and am usually found in a hydration vest!!

I've ordered it, thanks so much. I like Ronhill gear, so hope it works. I like my hydration vest for the trails, but for a road marathon where I'm hoping for a GFA, I want to carry as little as possible!
