Peloton treadmill

Hello!
I posted on here last year about thoughts on peloton and buying a bike. I ended up buying one and I love it. I'm now looking into the treadmill and just wondered how people find it? If anyone has a referral code too, I would be very grateful.

I can’t help with the tread but I have a referral code you can use BBUD7M.
The tread looks great though
Batshittery · 14/02/2022 17:56
Sadly I don't have room for a tread, but I know a couple of people who have them and love them. I would get one like a shot if I had space for it
Thewoolmill · 14/02/2022 17:57
I’ve considered the bike. Have you found it worthwhile? What sort of cost outside of the bike itself do you incur?
Batshittery · 14/02/2022 17:59
The monthly subscription for the bike is £39 but several people can use it for the same price and there are loads of different classes. Not just cycling, but strength, pilates, meditation, boxing, running or walking outdoors. It's been great for me and DH

Also, there are people who don't have the Peloton bike but use the app for £12.99 a month
Batshittery · 14/02/2022 18:04
I have a code 3JMYTU which will get someone £100 off accessories and vouchers for me

I'm trying desperately to find space for the tread! It's going to be extremely tight!
The bike has been absolutely fantastic and the classes are great and keep me motivated. I've been unfortunate to have had to have 2 back ops over the past 4 years (cauda equina twice!) and the bike has really helped get me stronger. Great community on Facebook too. Im hoping the tread will be just as fab as the bike.
Thanks so much for the ref code

@xxxPandora I'm led to believe that you need a lot of clearance around the treadmill, for the incline height and behind it, in case you fly off the end. Good luck

I use the Peloton app on a non peloton bike at home and on the treadmill at a low cost gym. Love the tread classes, something for every level of fitness. I've mainly done runs but there are lots of walks and hikes too. I tried the Peloton treadmill out in John Lewis - really nice to run on and the controls are easy to use. Very responsive and speed up/ slow down very quickly which is great for intervals (the gym treads are much slower to reach the correct speed or incline)

@nbee84 that's interesting. I already have the app as I have the bike. How does using the app on say a different/lower cost treadmill feel? Is it easy to adapt the instructions from the peloton instructors? That's such a good idea.

The treadmills at gyms are usually good quality and are nice to run on. Some of ours are set up for km per hour and some at miles. I try and jump on the mph ones as they use mph in the classes. They don't speed up or slow down as quick as the Peloton tread which is a pain if you're doing short intervals. The wifi at my gym can be a bit iffy (generally ok) so I sometimes have to use data on my phone - not a problem for me as my plan has 120gb but beware if you have less as it uses quite a lot of data.

@xxxPandora thank you so much for posting about the bike - I ordered one two weeks ago and I've also had CE!
xxxPandora · 15/02/2022 16:33
@pawpaws2022 ah I'm so sorry to hear you've had cauda equina too. It's horrendous and so scary! I hope you're recovering well? Recovery has been slower than I hoped for my end and I'm left with a permanent numb leg/foot from nerve damage but I can honestly say that the bike truly has been amazing and has really helped strengthen my core/weaker leg. I can cycle miles without it affecting my back in any way- amazing!! Walking distances without my back going into spasm though is still not great, hence wanting the treadmill to help get me stronger.
I hope you don't mind me mentioning my recovery etc but just wanted to give a bit of a back story when trying to demonstrate just how amazing I have found the bike in my recovery. I really hope you find it fab too
pawpaws2022 · 15/02/2022 17:11
No not at all! I have numbness in my right leg and foot hut I've been able to ride my horse etc. I just feel.. stiff/tight. Surgery was 2017 and 5hrs (L5/S1)
Batshittery · 19/02/2022 18:20
@xxxPandora Did you order the tread?
I have back issues (more minor than yours) and I can manage the bike without aggravating it.
xxxPandora · 19/02/2022 20:02
@Batshittery I did order the treadmill and used your referral code- thanks so much. Sorry, I should have messaged on here to let you know so that you could expect Peloton vouchers. There's such lovely items in their apparel at the mo, I hope you find something lovely with your vouchers :). Thanks again
Batshittery · 20/02/2022 13:57
That's great. I am so jealous but I'd have to get rid of my dining room furniture to make a space for a tread. I received my notification about the voucher. Thank you so much. I'm sure you'll love the tread
IBelieveInAThingCalledScience · 20/02/2022 20:36
Just a quick post to let you know that Vitality Health (health or life insurance) is offering up to 40% cash back on treadmills.
Icaru · 23/02/2022 13:44
Just ordered as well, when is your delivery coming? Soonest I could get is 18 March.
Batshittery · 23/02/2022 20:09
Ooh lucky you Icaru Are you also getting a tread?
Icaru · 24/02/2022 10:26
Yep! Considered the bike but would love to run a half marathon someday
burnthur5t · 24/02/2022 10:35
Interesting article in The Times yesterday about how the bikes rust and how employees were asked to hide it
