Neck pain after spin?

Firstly how did I not know this bit of mumsnet existed before???..

Secondly......Had
spin class on Thursday night. Got up Friday morning with pain in my neck/shoulder by Friday evening I could barely move my head or arm. So had to cancel my first body pump class....
Yesterday it got progressively better as the day wore on and felt almost back to normal.
However when I woke up this morning it hurt to just lift my head from the pillow (though at least now it's just my neck).
Anyone else had this? I'm now wondering if it's my sleep position rather than spin.
How long will it take to get better? Can I exercise (go to the gym and work my legs)? Will some yoga stretches help?
Im just nor used to not being active and its driving me mad.

In the starting days, it will pain for your neck, don't worry. Please bath in the little hot water. It will helps to reduce your pain. Don't take heavy stress for your spin. Be cool and calm.

What do you do for a job? I find sitting at a laptop or scrolling on my phone to be the worst thing for my neck but a spin class can add to the strain. Check your posture and try not to crane your neck too much, whatever it is you’re doing

I’d ask the instructor to check your bike set up. Maybe you’re stretching too far forward and putting pressure on upper back/neck? And remind yourself to relax your shoulders while you’re spinning - it’s easy to tense up - my instructor regularly calls out for us to relax our shoulders and not death grip the handlebars! 😁

Did you wear a racer back bra? I have reasonable sized boobs, and always try to wear a bra with standard shoulder straps for spin, as having more weight in the centre of my back seems to give me neck ache. Might just be me though!
