Has anyone done Sh' Bam?

There's a Les Mills Sh'Bam class at my gym and I'm debating trying it as a bit of cross training.
Before I do, can anyone advise on how difficult it is? I'm not very coordinated (so struggle a bit with complex dance moves) and am looking for something that will leave me tired.
I've previously tried Les Mills' body attack but found it a bit too low intensity. I like Pump and spinning. Thanks!

I am very uncoordinated and struggle with a lot of classes due to this but found Sh’Bam absolutely fine. However it is fairly low intensity. I haven’t tried body attack but do body combat and body pump, both of which are higher intensity

I'm generally fairly good at following an exercise class and I've tried Sh'bam at home. I was a completely uncoordinated mess Grin so the opposite of the previous poster.
Are you sure it was body attack you did or was it body balance? Body attack is very high energy and is often described as 80's aerobics on steroids! Definitely gets your heart rate much higher than pump.

Yes, it was definitely Body Attack I did before - was a mix of aerobics and some kickboxing-type moves? Body Balance is the more pilates-ish one, right?

I'm pretty fit so aerobics type classes don't tend to get me going unless there's lots of very intense stuff in there (endless burpees would do it!)

I think I might give Sh'Bam a miss if it requires coordination 😄

You're the first person I've ever heard say that attack is low intensity Shock I'm fairly fit and still find it a good aerobic workout Smile
Not sure what to suggest - maybe Grit or Insanity if you have access to those classes. Or running - hill sprints always get me up near my max hr.

If you found Body Attack too low intensity (!!!) then I don't think Sh'Bam will be your thing!

That's Body Combat. Depending on the release you did (some are harder than others) I still wouldn't call it low intensity!

Do they do Les Mills Grit classes at your gym?

Findingthelight1 · 29/01/2022 15:54

Yes, I've done Grit a few times, and I'm a regular runner. From what people have said, it doesn't sound like sh'bam is for me, so thanks for the heads up 🙂
