Sale / cheap running shoes

My running shoes are long overdue an upgrade but I'm really skint and can't afford to go to my usual running shop and spend £100+. Can anyone suggest either a cheap alternative or good sale items. My last ones were Brooks Ravenna 11 which are ok but not as comfortable as my Saucony Ride.

I've always worn new balance trainers and usually pick up a pair between £35-50. They've always been comfortable, never rubbed and last the usual time I'd expect them to last.

I get my Hokas from eBay - there are a few sellers on there who seem to have access to the "returned" pairs from the 30 day trials they do - ie lots of v "lightly worn" for around £30-40

Have you looked on sportshoes.com? My current pair are New Balance and they were £50 cheaper on there than I paid in the running shop.

I like Nike Flex Runners. If you're a size 5.5 or lower, you can pick them up in the kids' section, too.

These are great ideas thanks all. I'm off to search for a bargain Grin

Facebook running buy and sell group. You have to be quick for the good stuff ngl but I've had some great bargains.

Decathlon are outstanding value. Lots of positive YouTube reviews of their cheaper shoes.

blobby10 · 24/01/2022 16:50

I've always used sportshoes.com and bought previous season Asics for a massively reduced price.

purplesequins · 24/01/2022 17:16

decathlon?
their own brand shoes are decent for the occassional runner.

BogRollBOGOF · 24/01/2022 18:05

I've worn Decathlon for about 3 years and they tend to be half the price of the specialist running shop.
They seem to be quite consistent in their models too. My feet are awkward and suseptible to changes in updated models.

Sportshoes.com

I normally buy the out going models.

Also look out for discounts codes, 5 to 15% extra at times.

Usually I buy a few pairs at a time, but have at times had a wardrobe full of trainers.

lechatnoir · 25/01/2022 09:31

Sportshoes is fab!!! Any idea whether New Balance are true to size? I normally take 7.5 in running shoes but had a feeling these come up smaller

Oh and anyone with a discount code? I can't find one but never very good at spotting them Confused

I never buy running shoes online unless it's a model that I had tried on before. too risky (and expensive) to get wrong.

emmathedilemma · 25/01/2022 11:59

i wear the same size in New Balance as i do in other trainers - a full size bigger than my regular shoes.
