It does way more than my Fitbit (which was an Alta) did, definitely!
So far, I’ve used it to:
Track exercise (walking, running, swimming and cardio classes at the gym)
Motivate me to move more (the aim each day is to ‘close your rings’ - burn a certain number of calories, do a certain number of active minutes and move a bit each hour for however many hours you’ve set yourself as a daily goal)
Set timers (multiple at the same time)
Check the weather
Control my music
Check heart rate and and blood oxygen (not that it means much to me!)
Check messages, emails and notifications
Take a photo on my phone using the remote on the watch.
I really like the fact that I can wear it swimming. I know some Fitbits are waterproof, but mine wasn’t. I also like the torch feature - could be very useful.
I haven’t used it for phone calls yet!
One feature I really like is that I can download music to the watch, so I could leave my phone at home when I go for a run if I want. I haven’t done this yet, though.
I’ve signed up to Apple Fitness+ because I got three free months - but I’ll probably cancel when that runs out, because the workouts don’t seem to be anything I couldn’t just get on YouTube, and I prefer real-life classes at the gym.
