Another 20 mile / 33km hike across the Dublin Mountains from West to East yesterday. www.dublinmountains.ie
There's a 40km marked trail across the mountains, I did slightly more than half yesterday and I'll finish the rest of it another time. My house is about 6km from the mid-point of the route.

2 miles today which is a big achievement because I had to crowbar myself away from work! If I don't go first thing (impossible today) it is so hard to escape.

128 miles TTD.

FrangipaniBlue · 16/02/2022 23:02

Decided to run the 12.5km home from the office today, without checking wind direction first - doh!

Headwind THE WHOLE WAY and now my everything hurts 😂

ErrolTheDragon · 17/02/2022 13:14

Oh dear, that must have been hard work! We got out for our walk this morning, 8km to the next village and bad - the wind wasn't too bad after a rough night. I'm glad we got out when we did, it's started tipping down with hail or sleet in it.

327.9 km walked
32.5km rowed

Given the weather forecast decided to bring 'long run Friday' forward a day to be 'not so quite long run Thursday'! So 10.5km to add from this morning and 7.7km from tuesday.
TTD 193.6km

rrhuth · 17/02/2022 19:29

I did 2 miles yesterday and 3.5 miles today = 133.5 miles TTD

UnaOfStormhold · 17/02/2022 20:45

February has not been a good month distance wise - I've only run 38 miles so far due to a niggly knee and we're going on holiday on Saturday so I probably won't add much to that, so my total for the first two months of the year is going to be a bit behind at 140 miles or so. Heigh ho, it's lucky I got off to a good start in January!

TheLongRider · 18/02/2022 19:48

I cycled through some of Storm Eunice this morning on my way to the train station in Dublin. It was fairly unpleasant but not too bad over here. I travelled to the south of the country and I cycled through a succession of wintery showers to my destination. Only 25km in total but it felt like double the distance.

I went looking for one of my favourite place names over here.

I guess most of us stayed in as far as possible today - I did! Apart from a foray into the garden to round up the plastic and metal waste when the recycling bin blew over. HmmWe were fortunate the others were emptied this morning before it got bad here.

Yes a big zero here from me too, I did think about it when things calmed down for a bit but it was only calm in comparison so I decided against!

I have started to really notice how much lower my mood is when I stay in. I used to go out everyday, then of course lockdown broke the habits, and now I feel I am back to going out being my norm.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2022 11:01

And now the wind has abated (though forecast to be pretty bad again tomorrow) but it's snowing the biggest flakes I've ever seen

OP posts:
rrhuth · 19/02/2022 15:39

I did 4 miles today, was hoping to do more but the sleet appeared and so I had to change course!

ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2022 16:36

Unexpectedly, and contra to what the weather forecast was predicting up until a few moments before, the skies suddenly cleared a bit before 3pm and so we got in our 8km under brilliant sun until the last km or so but it stayed dry and still not fully cloudy. The hills we can see from here were shining white.Smile

February has been dire here. I managed a couple of short lunch walks but my planned long run for the last 3 Sundays been cut short due to injury and bad weather. We have yellow warnings again here for this afternoon but will try to get out for a run in a bit before the wind picks up. Was out watching my son at cross county yesterday in some miserable conditions.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/02/2022 09:43

We've got yellow warnings but for rain rather than wind - though it is also pretty blowy after the lull yesterday

OP posts:
rrhuth · 20/02/2022 14:43

I only managed 2 miles today but the weather is pretty grim so I am putting that down as a good effort.

ErrolTheDragon · 20/02/2022 15:28

Just a blustery 3.4 km before the rain got too bad

339.3 km walked
32.5km rowed

ErrolTheDragon · 20/02/2022 19:26

And 2.5km on the rower to make up for the short walk

35km rowed
