I know it’s subject prob done to death but I’ve tried this twice now and gave up.

Due to my life turning to shit 4 months ago and feeling completely and utterly depressed I would like to try this again

But I’m 44 peri and my feet ache like a nightmare whatever I do but I can walk for miles

Can I repeat weeks? Even if I do 2 or 3 weeks the same, I’m not a failure I know that but I do need to take my time with this, my mind is a bit delicate at the moment.

Also can I do it on a treadmill in the week, I don’t get home until it’s dark

Yes you can repeat weeks, and you can do it on a treadmill. When I did it I left two days between runs to make sure I didn't overdo it. Best bit of advice is go slower than you think you should.

Well done on giving it another go!

Yes! I repeated several weeks and had several restarts before I cracked it. Good luck!!

Ah thank you
I down loaded the nhs app this morning and just done the first run, I did walk the second to last run section, no point in exhausting myself.
I’ve a feeling this will take me months 😂

I must admit I did feel great afterwards because I was in the fresh air, it was cold and breezy and sunny. I used to do a lot of hill walking in happier times and I’d forgotten the feeling

Another question do any of you run or walk in the evening. I know it’s dark and I will go to the gym some nights but I did enjoy the fresh air

Glad it went well. I almost always run in the morning as I get lazier as the day goes on! I run in all weathers except when it's icy underfoot.

FourEyesGood · 21/11/2021 17:25

Well done for getting that first one under your belt! I run first thing in the morning (I get up at 5am three times a week to make sure I’m back home by my usual get-up time of 6am) because it wakes me up properly and there’s no way I’d have the motivation to go after work.

Hi there @ghostmouse. Can I join you? I have done couch 2 5k and it’s the best way to get running but I have not been exercising for a few years and literally starting over. Well I am running 3 or 5 min times but so exhausted. I am peri menopausal and 46. I hope we can encourage each other and anyone else here ?

Redrosesandsunsets · 22/11/2021 05:08

And I am running a treadmill at night as we have snow here. I’d love to be outside but it’s too risky for the next 3-4 months. I’m overseas.

Redrosesandsunsets · 22/11/2021 05:08

Oh and I decided I will start my next run starting from week 2

ghostmouse · 22/11/2021 18:19

Hi red
Yes would be good to keep each other company and encourage each other, I haven’t been out at all today except work so hoping to go for run 2 tomorrow

Hi @ghost
