When will I see results? RWL postnatal app

Hello

I’m 15 weeks post partum and for the past 5 weeks have been doing the RWL post natal barre programme 3/4 times a week. Each session is about 30 mins and is a full body exercise with weights. I give it my all and get sweaty doing it!

I have been using light weighs depending on what the exercise is (1kg for punches, 5kg for arms and legs).

I know it’s only been 5 weeks but I just don’t feel or look any fitter.

Eating wise, I’m trying to stick to 1800 cals a day as I’m breastfeeding which is what is recommended on the app.

Do I need to up the weights to see results or should I be doing something else or do I need to just be patient?

I can't help you, but I had been considering doing this one after my baby is born... hard to find out much about it in advance though, and doesn't sound great if you don't feel different after 5 weeks! I guess you wouldn't recommend it?

@ApricotShandy I used the app during trimester 2 & 3 and it was great. There were loads of varied videos.

Whilst the postnatal barre programme is a bit repetitive, there are loads of other videos in the postnatal workout bank (although there is a lot of cross over with the prenatal vids) so I personally still think it is worth it for quick easy workouts.

I just wanted a more structured programme where I could see some sort of progression and I’m not sure RWL has this. Perhaps it will take me longer as this is my second baby and I’m 36!

Ah thanks for replying. I'll be in a similar position to you come February, second baby and wanting to be able to see progression and results!

Currently thinking I'll probably do Bodyfit by Amy's postnatal calendar as it's free, but I like the idea of barre as I've never done it before.

Have you tried Get Pregnancy Fit? Fitness classes plus nutrition, wellbeing, pelvic stuff and other support. It has been set up by a GP and a PT and they make each fitness programme based on you. I did it about 2 years ago and was great.
