@Lelivre that's really great that you are seeing progress. Well done!
**@ThankYouVeryMuchGerry* @FlowerArranger* gives good advice!
Cg is tough, but it's also ok just to do what you can. Just trying within your ability is enough. It is a physical thing for sure, but it is also just as much an emotional one; pushing through when you feel disheartened or just turning up and giving it a go. Not comparing yourself with anyone else and celebrating your own gains, however small they might seem.
I couldn't agree more!

I'm quite old and I wish I'd started all this year's ago, but I am always trying to push myself a little more - and after 2 years of regular exercise I'm in better shape than I was more than a dozen years ago. In fact, I am fitter than most 40 year olds - and many 30 year olds... Plus I'm so modest Grin

BigButtons · 22/02/2022 17:37

@FlowerArranger modesty comes with a fit, strong body of course!😂😃

Absolutely, @BigButtons Halo.

Today I did EEG5 - all those burpees, OMG!! - albeit at half her pace and with some substitutions/modifications towards the end. Followed by Lucy's Thighs & Glutes and CG's 20-minute Triceps. Not forgetting the Bowflex 3-minute plank, which I do almost every day.

Phew!!

BigButtons · 22/02/2022 19:26

EEG day one trillion and eight ( day 37)- was ok actually and even did the leg add on!

OP posts:
BigButtons · 22/02/2022 20:04

@ @ flower arranger- ashamed to say I passed on that one. I have done all the other hiit/ cardio since. One of them had a burpee finisher 😮

OP posts:
FlowerArranger · 22/02/2022 21:48

No need to feel ashamed @BigButtons- EEG5 is a stinker!

As I said I modified….. substituted….. went at my own pace Wink

BigButtons · 23/02/2022 07:20

100 various tricep push ups as today’s finisher? My shoulders: they say no🧐

OP posts:
Itsnotdeep · 23/02/2022 14:58

I'm a week behind you @BigButtons, but I'm enjoying last week's workouts a lot so far! (not looking forward to 100 tricep push ups next week - I'll do about 14, I should think).

FlowerArranger · 23/02/2022 15:50

@BigButtons

100 various tricep push ups as today’s finisher? My shoulders: they say no🧐
100? As a 'finisher'...??!!!! WTF Shock

For me that'll be:
Do 8-10; drink some water and read a page of Mumsnet
Do 6-8; drink some water and read a page of Mumsnet
Do 4-6; drink some water and read a page of Mumsnet
Do 2-3; drink some water and read a page of Mumsnet
Do 1 and collapse in a heap...
Drink a large glass of water and proceed to the Bowflex plank and Rebecca's Best Abs, so I feel I've done something and don't feel like a total failure...
Eh...... that's it Blush

BigButtons · 23/02/2022 16:19

@FlowerArranger LOl! I just sub for exercises that work the same muscles. I managed the cobra push ups as they don't aggravate my shoulders and did kick backs and lying tricep extensions instead of the other push ups. I subbed for the dips too doing tricep presses instead . Oh and I hate all forms of leg lowers as I have a genetically weak lower back and they are therefore pointless. I did exercises that my back could take and worked my abs instead. There were a gazilion hammer curls- about 5 minutes worth. Tbh I found the whole thing tedious. So much so that I stopped at some point, not to drink water but to go and eat some bread!! Grin

Melassa · 23/02/2022 18:48

100 tricep push ups is surely the stuff of nightmares? Mine also hurt my dodgy shoulder, so I make a vague attempt at something like 5 then sub for cobras or skull crushers or something. I’ve somehow managed not to improve in the slightest wrt the bloody tricep push ups, so I’ve decided my body is not designed for them.
A bit like your leg lowers @BigButtons, I don’t mind those too much but hate the toe reaches as my neck hurts after not very many.

Forgotmypasswordsgain · 23/02/2022 20:48

Just finished EEG day 21, it feels like I’m getting more and more behind despite packing in loads of exercise this week. I did play the full 1hr match again at netball last night so hoping all the cardio will help with my weight loss. Almost back to my pre Christmas sub 10st this week, took a little longer than hoped but slightly derailed by COVID and too much eating during our weekend away. Also got player of the match last night, not bad for a 42 yr old 🤩

Melassa · 23/02/2022 22:44

Right, did day 38 in the end, but only managed the cobra part of the finisher and maybe about 10 regular tricep push ups but only lowering pathetically. I am still weak on the triceps, I do dislike most of the exercises, plus many hurt my wrists so I don’t attempt to increase weights. I did the lot on 6kg to CG’s 8 but many exercises were a struggle.

Melassa · 23/02/2022 22:46

Well done @Forgotmypasswordsgain on the player of the match! And the weight loss Smile

BigButtons · 23/02/2022 23:09

@Melassa well done on day 38 and using 6s- I can’t go above 5 or my shoulders really pay me back. That’s ok though I have so much more muscle definition all over my upper body. None of my bras fit and my once skinny arms now rub against my body when I am doing bicep work! So the weights I am using are doing the job for sure.

BigButtons · 23/02/2022 23:10

@Forgotmypasswordsgain well done you- proud moment indeed🥳🤩!

So not looking forward to 100 push-ups, sounds brutal. Just completed day 22 EE which was relatively kind to me, I only started to find it challenging the last 10secs of each superset. Now debating whether to forego a rest day tomorrow as my netball on Saturday will be another active rest day. Down the pub tonight for a school meeting so it might depend how motivated I am in the morning 😂😂

ladybranstonpickle · 25/02/2022 11:49

You are all amazing! The decision about whether to do a deload week was taken out of my hands when I got sick this week - tested positive for Covid and felt really quite rough. So will start HEAT on Monday, after this week off.

SophieLion · 25/02/2022 15:32

Hello, I've been following this thread as also doing epic endgame. I did post on the thread a few months ago but only a couple of times. Finding you all very inspiring and also like seeing how you found each day (I'm a bit behind - day 24). Thank you! Smile

Forgotmypasswordsgain · 25/02/2022 15:55

@ladybranstonpickle hope you feel better soon. I had to take 2 weeks off when I had in COVID in January, I couldn’t even imagine having the energy to exercise so take it easy. Thankfully I was able to get back into it fairly quickly once I restarted.

BigButtons · 25/02/2022 16:38

@ladybranstonpickle so you were feeling poorly. Hope you are better now?
@SophieLion hello again! How are you finding endgame?

I did the callisthenics Day 39 today. It was ok. It turns out I hate push ups ( I got my weights out when the push ups came around). I’m so wellies about buffeting up my tight shoulder again.
I see in the last week that there is a a whole push up upper body day. I’ll be finding something else to do. Oh and there is a whole Bulgarian lunge day too!

OP posts:
FlowerArranger · 25/02/2022 17:37

You are right to go easy on the push-ups, @BigButtons. I think that's how I buggered up my shoulders/collarbone/neck the other day, even though there were only a few dozen or so. As for 100 push-ups- that is just nuts!!

SophieLion · 25/02/2022 18:00

Hello bigbuttons! I've been enjoying it on the whole. Like it more than epic 3 I think (remember only really enjoying week 9 of that). Took a while to get used to the 100 reps finishers but now quite enjoying them (well the majority of them - I know there are 100 burpees and 100 tricep push ups coming up....)

I loved day 25 kickboxing (did that yesterday ahead of day 24 as been travelling). My favourite HIIT so far.

Still don't think she does enough abs/core for my liking (I have slight diastasis recti so need to do some focused abs most days to stay strong) and don't often have time for an add-on. I also feel I need to add in another cardio session each week so normally do a run on one day.

Not looking forward to a whole push up session or a whole Bulgarian lunge session....

I'm very curious as to what she is planning to do after endgame.

BigButtons · 25/02/2022 18:21

She did reverse snow angels on the floor today and rear delt flies . Loved those- they were really challenging and didn’t involve shoulder strain!
@FlowerArranger I think it is incredibly easy to damage shoulders doing push ups incorrectly- I reckon that is what has happened to me?
I used to be bothered that I can’t lift more than 6kg when doing upper body work. Mostly it is 5kg. But when I looked at myself now my shoulders and arms are really defined and much larger! I don’t think I need to up the weights anymore. Just goes to show how much can be achieved with lower weights!😃
