Indoor rowing chafing!

Does anyone else find that rowing causing chafing? I only row once or twice a week, but it is so painful - actual sores (excuse TMI!) on my tailbone area. Cycling shorts don't pad in the same place so they're no good. I can't find a padded seat that works either. Suggestions welcome!

I used to row a lot indoors and outdoors and never got chafing there! Lots of blisters on hands though.

Are you using a proper rowing padded seat?

You could try some anti chafing cream or good old Vaseline

Try just normal cycling shorts maybe without pants?

I’ve never had that problem, maybe I’m just well padded.

Check your posture, are you leaning back/ rounding your back too far at the finish? Is would say that any pressure on my bones is more on the sit bones. Check out the Concept2 videos (what machine are you using?).

Concept2 do a rubber seat pad, as do Godfrey and Rock the Boat.
