Working out the calories without MFP

Hello!

I would really like to know how to work out calories without using My Fitness Pal as I rather find it complicated, especially if I'm using less/more than stated on the packet.

For example, my protein power is:

Per 30g - 115 cal
Per 100g - 383 cal

But what if I am using 10g? or 25? or 75g? How would I work this out?

10g would be 115 divided by 3 so approx 38 calories
25g would be 383 divided by 4 so approx 96
75 g would be 3 lots of 25g so 96 X 3 = 288

Divide the calories for 100g by 100, eg 383/100 = 3.83

Then it's 3.83 x number of grams

So 15g = 3.83 x 15 = 57 cals
And 125g = 3.83 x 125 = 479 cals

I use cronometer.com totally free and way superior to MFP. You can select grams as measure unit.

When you put in what portion you're having on MFP, there should be an option to change the serving size to 1g. And then you can say you're having 30 of them to make it 30g for example. Does this not happen for your protein powder?

Also sorry if you know this, but have you used the feature where you scan the barcode so that you can easily input the nutritional content?
