Best gym leggings

Chocachocaholic · 14/09/2021 07:41

Hi all
I am looking for recommendations for the best gym leggings.
I do a mixture of Cardio and weights so they need to be sweat wicking and squat proof.
I want to invest in a couple of good pairs but I go several times a week so they also need to be good wearing and wash well
I am looking at sweaty Betty and gym shark which is best? Are these the best 2 brands to buy?
Thanks

I use Pineapple leggings .. they wash so well and look as good as new 3 years on . 2 pairs in rotation 4 times a week ..
I’ll be disappointed when I need to buy new these are so comfortable

IME Sweaty Betty are good, but not that much better than other brands to justify the massive cost. There is also a difference between the different SB leggings. The Power ones are the best IMO, whereas the zero gravity are basically the same as my Decathlon leggings that were about a sixth of the price.
Gymshark are ok, but again, no better than Decathlon.

Honestly, I would just stick with Decathlon, and ask for some SB Powers as a treat if you have a birthday coming up.

Sweaty Betty Power Leggings every time. I spent years not buying them because of the cost, got a pair from Dsd for a birthday one year and have bought them ever since ( plus the original pair are still going and I'm wearing them now)
I workout 5-6 times a week and they wash and dry brilliantly, still squat-proof and absolutely worth the money.

randomsabreuse · 14/09/2021 09:49

Sweaty Betty Power way better than Gymshark in my opinion. Dry really quickly too. But buy in a sale as full price is a bit much.

emmathedilemma · 14/09/2021 10:40

Tikiboo are squat proof. I bought a pair of SB in the sale and sent them back as I didn't like the fabric, i think they'd have been far too warm in the gym (and the colours were nasty).

Stellaris22 · 14/09/2021 14:45

My most comfortable and favourite leggings are a Good Move brand by M & S. They have side pockets and I can do cardio and weights workouts on them, fantastic for squats and lunges.

Marylou2 · 14/09/2021 14:47

I only buy Sweaty Betty Power leggings now. Nothing else feels right after you've worn them.

Ah you see, I just can't agree with that. Yes, Power leggings are good, but I have some Nike ones that are almost identical, and were £35 rather than ££££...

Sweaty Betty Power leggings (but only buy in a sale)

MattyGroves · 14/09/2021 16:41

Rainbow and Sprinkles do great leggings

EmmaStone · 14/09/2021 16:46

Another vote for SB leggings - I bought my first pair about 8 years ago and they still look as good as new (and I tend to wear sports kit most days). Most recently, I stick with Power leggings, but you still have to try - I've had to send various SB pairs back when they don't pass the squat test. And I almost always buy in the sales (but I quite like the crazy colours and patterns!).

Amazon or Aliexpress and search for CRZ Yoga or Syrokan leggings. I'm pretty sure they are the people producing Lululemons, as I have some of those pairs, and the abovementioned are indistinguishable. For fraction of the price. Lovely smooth fabric, won't roll down.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. I forgot I wrote this post Blush it's been a busy week.

I will definitely invest in a pair of sweaty Betty power ones especially if I can get them on a deal

Will check out some of the other suggestions too though thank you 🙏

Sweaty Betty are great, so light weight, breathable and don't roll down.

Mine too, I really like them, except that they're just boring black, which is their only negative thing.

I also have a pair of Tikiboo ones which I really like, and they have neon glow in the dark rainbow polka dots!

Ozberry · 21/09/2021 20:50

I have about six pairs of Nike leggings which I have had for years. They just go and go and go. I have chunky thighs so often seam to wear out the seams on others (I’ve heard Gym Shark aren’t good for chunky thighs for this reason) but my Nike ones are pretty bomb proof.

AuntieStella · 22/09/2021 09:19

I would always go for Decathlon - best VFM by a mile, squat proof, good fabrics, variety of lengths and weight of fabric, useful pockets and drawstrings.

Nike are also very good.

Sweaty Betty aren't noticeably better, and are considerably more expensive.
If you want bright, try Tikiboo, which are excellent and half the price if SB

Another vote for Rainbow and Sprinkles. Great designs too
emmathedilemma · 22/09/2021 11:23

I love rainbows and sprinkles designs BUT I find the sizing generous so they’re a bit too big to run in and if I went a size down I don’t think they’d be squat proof.

fruitpastille · 22/09/2021 11:31

Also a fan of M&S good move. They do patterned as well as plain.

Giftwithpurchase · 25/09/2021 16:18

@KatharinaRosalie thanks so much for the suggestion. I needed to replace my Lululemon's and couldn't bare the price. These are so similar!

HummingBeeBox · 25/09/2021 16:24

Love Fit Pink

HermioneWeasley · 27/09/2021 15:58

Joyspel high waisted leggings on Amazon - cheap, wash well, squat proof etc

Shmithecat2 · 27/09/2021 16:01

I do a mix of cardio and weights 3-5 times a week and H&M gym leggings do me fine.

Same. Love them.
