Is this normal? I'm worried

So in Jan this year I had to go to the hospital because my heart rate was 172 just laying in bed. They started me on a beta blocker and told me my heart is fine after a 24hr monitor and a heart scan. My cardiologist told me to work out for 45 mins 3 times a week but I do 5 times a week for half an hour - mixture of cardio and weights but mostly cardio.

When I wake up my heart rate jumps from 77 and when I'm getting ready for the gym it's 140 :'( I'm so scared. When I'm working out I haven't seen my heart rate pass 179 but that's with medication to reduce my heart rate too.

I don't understand how nothing can be wrong. Anyone else the same as me or am I going to die young?

I'm 26, 5ft7" female. 80kg

Hi Moxxi - did you try any of the advice from your thread about this last week? CBT, mindfulness & yoga?
Have you gone back to your GP with your concerns (maybe keep a diary to show them?)

Hello I'm on the waiting list for CBT. I've been doing/trying mindfulness which had been helping but my heart rate seems to shoot back up right away after I've finished with the will breathing exercises. I'm so scared :(

Hi OP,
Have you had Covid or the vaccine by any chance? I’ve had some scary episodes with my heart rate since my first jab. It started about a week after I had it and was stuck at around 170 while I was just sitting down doing nothing. It has eventually settled (but remains higher than it used to be) but took a couple of months to settle.

If you haven’t had either then this is an irrelevant comment that you can ignore, but I have found a lot of people are having heart rate issues since being ill with Covid or having the jab.

Hello @Runningquestion I've had both vaccines

Did the high heart rate start shortly after one of them?

Was also about to ask if you'd had covid? my resting heart rate is usually about 62. I had covid and it shot up to 85, now a month later its slowly coming back down but even a month later its at 70. Similar increases during exercise, a gentle run would normal see me sat at 140 but since covid its been at 180-190
