Exercise with an ileostomy

I've just been given permission to exercise by my surgeon, but I have a temporary ileostomy which I'm going to need to accommodate.

I'm not allowed to do any strength training, absolutely no lifting in case of hernias so I'm pretty much going to have to stick to machines.
I'm too nervous of my bag to go swimming so thats out but I was thinking about yoga and pilates - has anyone done yoga or pilates with an ileostomy bag?

Was it manageable or is there too much bending and twisting? I can't lay on my sides or stomach so I'm thinking I might be a bit useless at that at the moment.

My gym clothes have got a high waist so thats ok, it should hold the bag in quite securely.

Is there anyone out there with a bag who can give me some advice on what to wear, what exercise to do, generally any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

I'm sorry but I have no experience of an ileostomy other than knowing what it is but bumping your post for traffic

Is there a stoma nurse you can contact for advice at the hospital?
