First road bike

I'm an avid runner but am injured again at the moment and although I have a 30 year old mountain bike to use for bike rides, I'm thinking of investing in a road bike.

Any tips on what to look for?

I'm thinking of maybe spending a couple of hundred quid on a second hand one.

£200 2nd hand won't buy anything too swish. How far, how often, what kind of terrain, more fitness or more sport?

It would be on the road (I already have a mountain bike), a couple of times a week for around 10 miles a time.

More fitness at this stage unless I decide I love it, at which point, I would upgrade.
