We're so busy counting laps we didn't see part 4 fill up!

Everyone is welcome here.

I’ve had a breakthrough with my swimming. I’ve been doing a bit of open water and it’s going so well, I love swimming in a wetsuit! I’m so proud of myself as I was nervous of the water, plus all the gubbins about how it all works etc. Slowing my stroke, not kicking my legs and using the glide has transformed the joy of swimming for me, I absolutely love it. I’m starting to build up my distance now. Going for a 1k around the lake soon, I’ve done 2x 500 there but the 1k markers seem very far! Did 1250 in the pool today so that I know I can do it.

Next year, I’m going to cancel my leisure centre membership in May and just do open water and lidos, and then resume again at the pool in October.

I’m thinking of getting the shokz mp3 headphones for Christmas - anyone got them? As I do further distances I might need some distraction. I can’t decide. 50 lengths was joyous today (had lane to myself!)

I’ve also decided not to get an Apple Watch and am going to get a £30 lap counter (goes on finger and you click) again for Christmas ! I’m not too fussed about my time etc, I’m more interested in distance and how it feels.
