Hi all. Trying to inspire my 13 year old daughter to embrace regular exercise and hopefully be healthier than I am when she's 40. I'm pretty sure she's stopped growing in height now and I've noticed she's put weight on in the last 6 months or so. I worry she will face an adulthood of weight battles like I have and I think getting into healthy habits now will be a positive thing. Our family dietary habits are also being addressed. She does play a regular sport, but the position she plays is not always very physical and the season is now almost over. She bikes/walks 3 miles to school nd back each day and she occasionally goes for a run, but it's not a regular thing currently. Having recently got back into running/plodding myself, I intend to get her out running with me a bit more regularly. But we could both benefit from a bit of strength exercise too, so I thought I'd introduce a home workout 2 or 3 times a week as well. She seems pretty keen on the idea. So does anyone have any recommendations on a good home workout to keep a young teen enthusiastic? I wondered if Davina might be a good place to start?
I am being very sensitive about all of this in case anyone is wondering, I certainly don't intend to give her a complex! Just trying to discreetly encourage good habits - I never had that encouragement when I was her age and I wish I had.
