Does anyone have a Pelaton treadmill?

I’m so tempted to get one.
Do you pay a monthly subscription for the online group workouts?

What are your overall thoughts of the actual treadmill?

Presumably if it's like the bike, you pay for the machine, then to access the metrics and classes, you have to pay the £40 monthly subscription. OR you could buy a different brand tread, and subscribe to the App only on Peloton for £13 per month. But you wouldn't have the leaderboard and various Peloton metrics. Personally I don't think I could justify the cost of the monthly sub (I have a Nordic Track tread and a Life Fitness bike and the Peloton app).

There's a Facebook group called Peloton Tread UK. Lots of info there. I don't have enough space for a treadmill, though would love to have one. I think I'd do the same as Emma as I already use the app on a non Peloton bike. The app is great, so much variety but I wouldn't want to be paying £39 a month for it - I don't personally need leaderboards and metrics. I have fun and get a great workout without them.

@Bookaholic73 maybe rethink buying the Peloton treadmill, because there are high chances it will be recalled.
It has caused the death of a child and injured 40. and pets also

Right now there is a battle to fight the recall but wait a bit or go for a Technogym one

I'm not sure why that one is any different from others. I wouldn't use my treadmill with pets or children in the room

Treadmills should become still if nobody is on the belt.
If you leave the machine, it should turn off by itself

The treadmill that has problems is the US one (called the Tread+). The model Peloton sell here is completely different (because the US one is so big it wouldn't fit through UK standard size doors). I have the UK peloton tread and can't see that it poses the same dangers - the belt at the back is lower and has a guard rail underneath that would stop anything getting pulled underneath. It also has a safety key that you can remove which means it can't be turned on by kids. If there is no-one on the belt for a period of time it does stop itself too.

I love mine. I have the bike too so one monthly subscription covers classes for both. The running classes are great with options for those just wanting a fun workout through to more technical pacing and speed sessions for keen runners.

I love the Peloton app and am hoping to purchase a tread soon so I don't need to use the gym ones!
Re the video above, that shows parental issues more than an issue with the machine. You do not have gym equipment in the same room as children's toys, these are not toys and children are not meant to use a treadmill. They should be switched off by the mains when not in use.
Accidents happen on treadmills and in the majority of cases it is user error. In the case above, it's unfortunate but the parents fault. I'm not saying you can always supervise children but you can ensure your gym equipment is not accessible.
