Very stretchy wetsuit for baby bump?

A long shot I know!

I'm looking for good ways to exercise in pregnancy, and don't live near a swimming pool. Maternity wetsuits do not exist, so I was thinking something thin and stretchy might work at least until I get huge. Has anyone tried this and made this work?

I could go down to 1.5mm. Am in NW Scotland, but my existing 2mm is toasty all year round for me. I swim without a wetsuit too but not if the jellyfish are bad, and to be honest only on the nicer days. With a wetsuit I am more likely to swim on bad days.

Don't want to spend more than £50 as it's only for a short time. Don't need glued/blindstitched seams or anything as it will be summer. Probably without seams or armouring on the belly area.

Any ideas? Realise it's very niche!

Traditional surfing wetsuits probably won't have enough stretch. I have an old 1.5mm unisex palm wetsuit (kayaking) which has much more stretch and you'd probably be able to get into that. (And we'll done for swimming in Scotland and throughout pregnancy!!) Otherwise the cheapy brand osprey might be ok or a second hand large one which has been broken in.

Thank you Frazzle! Does neoprene stretch if you force it then? If so I could probably force stretch it around something for a while...

Interestingly I've had a Palm suit in the past, but find my current surfing suit much stretchier! Will have a look a see what Palm and Osprey have at the moment though, thank you :)

Hi, I’m in the same boat, swimming in my rasht for the moment but I’d love to continue on swimming on through the winter but my bum has outgrown my wetsuit jacket. Did you find a good stretchy one? Or even one that zips from the bottom as well as the top?
