Compression/running socks

Morning all, does anyone run with compression socks or the ones that are supposed to prevent shin splints?

What do you think?

I have some compression socks and TBH I rarely wrestle myself in to them. I didn't really notice the difference. I was after calf support, not dealing with shin splints, so I'm not sure if that will be relevant to you.

I ended up at the osteopath, getting de-kinked all along the body, and the (one sided) calf issues resolved as part of that. Are your shin splints one or both sides?

They're both sides. I'm waiting to get a proper analysis for new trainers which will hopefully offer my arches more support which might help the shin splints to.

Tbh I think I've just over done it this month, I'd usually run/walk a combo of 70/80km per month and I've gone over 100km this month so trying to force myself to stay at home and just have little walks with my toddler for the next week.

My funds are probably better saved for new trainers but if I'd heard good things about the socks I'd have got some

the right trainers, stretching and foot position are more important than fancy socks.

if you can see a physio who knows about running for advise on shoes and posture.

I got some after getting shin splints. With a few days rest, and wearing compression socks, I was able to get back to running. I don’t wear them all the time when running anymore, but I did to begin and they really helped me.
