Used to go to classes at gym, really enjoyed them and was wondering whether it’s possible to get them online? Will I need the bar and weights? Thanks

Has your gym not run any online classes? Mine has and I ended up buying a bar and weights and dumbbells to use at home.
You can use hand weights if you can't get a bar as gym equipment is in short supply

Les Mills also has online classes and normally has a free trial to start with

I cancelled my membership, even when it was open you couldn’t get a class booked for live nor money so seemed a waste.

You want les mills on demand. The online classes go back to pump 96 a d are generally 2 releases behind whatever is running live at the gym.

The music is covers rather than proper artist that you get on gym releases but most come with 30, 45 or 55 min variations.

I pay £95 a year but uses it for body pump , body step and all three of their spin classes .

Weights are available to buy from Argos / Aldi .

I do mine in my dining room Grin. All the Les Mills classes are on line - watch.lesmillsondemand.com/browse

I pay about £7 a month, but I think I got a deal thing. It's still not that expensive though. The hardest bit is sourcing a bar & weights as they were like hens teeth. Argos have the Opti 20kg Barbell Set which does the job (and is only £34) but the stock comes and goes.

Les Mills on demand app is brilliant. I use hand weights for body pump and it works fine - still a good workout. I’m also getting into some of the other workouts - grit strength for more cardio and a shorter workout and core for.....your core.

Have managed to get a bar and weights on gumtree... so I’m all sorted. Diet starts Monday 🍷

There’s plenty body pump on YouTube too if you’re looking for a free version.

Definitely Les Mills on Demand. Its bloody brilliant and so reasonably priced too, you get so many different work outs!

V late to the LMOD party but my gym isn't going to reopen 😩 so I've bitten the bullet and ordered a barbell as I miss Bodypump so much. Will probably do some combat and balance too. Didn't realise Reebok steps are £100! Any recommendations for a cheaper alternative for the chest track? I've got a long body so think I'll struggle with a shorter one

Racingadmin · 18/05/2021 19:57

I have this one (after buying a cheaper one that was far too short).

It's great for pump and step - I'm 5ft 9 - so long of body

DKN Studio Aerobic Step - Grey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TKU0NUS/ref=cmswwrcppapip_7na6RaE3JWsqN

I have a similar one from amazon. Also had to return a shorter one

Thanks for the recommendations, bit pricey aren't they!

dementedpixie · 21/05/2021 23:49

Cheaper ones are shorter too
