Auto pause

Hi just looking for a bit of help with running. I usually use strava and last week got a garmin watch so want to use that instead. I've been on a few runs using both to see how they compare. I have auto pause on strava and set it on my watch as well. The first mile is usually pretty much the same but then after that when I've crossed a few roads garmin ends up about 30 seconds slower (which can't be right Wink) so was just wondering if anyone uses garmin and auto pause what it's set to as there's the option for it to kick in when I stop or go to a certain pace, I can't work out when stravas auto pause kicks in. Thanks if you got to the end of that, any help much appreciated

Hi my garmin watch is my default device. I've used fitbit, strava, runkeeper, map my run and a host of other apps and I'm always slowest on garmin, so now I just use the garmin and ignore the rest. They all use different settings, algorithms and satellites (I assume) so they're never going to be consistent. So I just stick to garmin as a baseline. Not sure if this helps! Basically they're all accurate in relative terms but probably not much use if you're comparing your performance across devices.

Having said that, I can totally relate to you trying to figure out when stravas auto pause kicks in. I still struggle with my software dependence .

Thank you EmpressPenguin at least now I've got the gist of the difference I can just swap over ... probably spend forever more saying to myself I can take 20 seconds off my average pace because starva would have shown quicker Grin
