Hi,

After buying too many wrong sized running bras I’ve invested in a SA but I can’t tell if it’s right and don’t want to keep ANOTHER bra that’s the wrong size.

I measure a 30DD in standard bra.

I bought myself a SA previously in a 32C following advice but it’s so restrictive it’s uncomfortable.

I’ve now got a 34C and a 36C to try on and I think the 34C is good but just wanted to know how others found the sizing so I don’t make another expensive mistake.

Don't ask me I have a veritable shock absorber graveyard of ill fitting bras. Their sizing is a mystery. I am a 30e 32 is too small 34 is too big

Gwenhwyfar · 04/02/2021 16:07

I think the MN bra intervention thing might not work with sports bras, so try the traditional sizing method. I find them tighter in the band than normal bras.

LazyDoll · 04/02/2021 16:48

Yes definitely tighter in the band than normal. Can barely breathe in the 32 and usually a 30. Want it to be comfortable but not TOO comfortable it doesn’t do it’s job! Went out in an old one Tuesday that had lost all support and ended up running holding my boobs in a hand/arm sling. It was a good look Hmm

I wear their run ones. 34F in normal bras but I wear a 36E in the shock absorber run bras so I'd go up in the band and down in the cup?

larrythelizard · 04/02/2021 16:50

Also unsure of what sizes they do but I splashed out on a Marree sports bra and it's the best one I've ever had!

PurpleDaisies · 04/02/2021 16:51

I’m surprised-I bought my normal size which fits. 32E. Maybe my normal size is wrong.
They’re often v tight when brand new and they’re fine after a wear or two. That’s the multi active one.

Frouby · 04/02/2021 16:53

I went up to a 38hh from a 36hh and I love it, it's very, very comfortable and supportive. So for me up a band and same cup sized worked.

Having said that my running is more of a shuffle than an actual run Grin.

TottiePlantagenet · 04/02/2021 16:55

I wear the high impact running ones and always buy at least one, if not two, band sizes up (and corresponding cup size down). I find the SA bands run tight and they only get tighter after a few washes.

woodhill · 04/02/2021 16:57

I sent my 32 E one back, too small in the cups even though I am a 30f in most bras

dementedpixie · 04/02/2021 16:58

Sister size of 30DD is 32D not 32C

I can't get on with shock absorber at all and tried a myriad of back and cup sizes and none of the suited.

I wear panache active underwired instead

PurpleDaisies · 04/02/2021 16:59

I’ve just checked on boobydoo.com
They say to go up a band size but keep your normal cup size.

@dementedpixie

Did you go up a backsize in the panache sports bra

Thanks

LazyDoll · 04/02/2021 17:18

Ok so I’ve just checked my normal bras (am a muppet) and I’m a 32D. Think I used to be a 30DD then bought all new bras last year and that’s my new size. So would 34C be right dementedpixie I’ve totally confused myself

Yes sister size of 32D is 34C
I wear my normal size in Panache- 36GG.

AmandaHugenkiss · 04/02/2021 17:31

I go up a back size and down a cup. So I’m normally 34DD and I buy 36D in the ultimate run.

LazyDoll · 04/02/2021 18:06

Perfect thanks 😊 I think I’m there! Trial will be in tomorrow mornings run! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Going up a back size and down a cup is exactly what you'd do if you'd done the MN bra intervention, but then went back to the 'traditional' way of sizing.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 04/02/2021 22:39

I wear 32D bras normally and I wear 34D in the SA ultimate run bra, except the padded version which fits bigger - I have 34C in that and could possibly have got away with a 32.
