Anyone still enjoying Davina DVDs?

I dusted off the old school ‘High Energy Five’ and ‘My Three 30 Minute Workouts’ recently and it’s got me motivated where the online subscriptions I’ve tried (including Davina’s) just haven’t. I’ve ordered Superbody Workout too, I used to love that one.

I think it’s because I like Mark and Jackie so much, and their chemistry with Davina. Plus there’s less HIIT stop/start workouts in her old DVDs, I find HIIT workouts annoying and much prefer just going for it non stop for 20 mins a la aerobics.

Anyone out there using her DVD’s or wants to start....hello!

I did Box from High Energy 5 and Pump from 3 30 Mins on Monday and my hamstrings are still sore after a rest day yesterday. Think I’ll just do some yoga today Grin

Yes, me!

I dusted off my 7 Minute Fit DVD a few months back. Really enjoy it, and I’m getting results Smile

I love mine but it just seems such a hassle to put dvds on. We dont have a DVD player anymore so I’ll need to go through the Xbox.
How lazy do I sound?

Hazelflies · 27/01/2021 08:20

@MawkishTwaddle ooh hello!! I never tried 7 minute fit, I’ll have a look 👀 how many times a week are you doing it?

@Foghead I know what you mean, most people seem to use apps/online programmes on their phones/tablets nowadays...we do have our Xbox set up already downstairs so it’s a easy to whack a DVD on and I prefer it on the tv as opposed to my tiny iPhone Grin
I hadn’t done workouts for years and years but once I got the first one done a couple of weeks ago the endorphin hit brought me back for more!

Me!! They're like old friends and I love doing them! I've got Fit and Body Buff. I've been contemplating getting another one though, which would you suggest?

Hazelflies · 27/01/2021 09:49

@GhostPenguin Grin yay!! I used to have Body Buff too but alas lost them in a house move years ago along with Superbody workout and ultimate target! My favourite used to be Superbody Workout! I do love High Energy Five too and still have it - their cardio section is really fun. I’ve read a lot of reviews that claim her first ever - Power of 3 - to be the best so I might try that one soon 👀

Yup, I still use them loads! I must look like some sort of ridiculous superfan... have high energy 5, body buff, intense, fit in 15, ultimate target & fit! Blush Only one I didn’t like was the 7min one.

Hazelflies · 30/01/2021 08:41

@Greybeardy the 7 min one has a different instructor doesn’t it? I have the 30 day fat burn with the same guy and I just couldn’t get into it. Same with her toned in 10 one with Sarah....I just don’t enjoy them without mark and Jackie.

I’ve given myself posterior shin splints by overdoing the cardio on high energy 5 - barefooted on laminate flooring. Never a problem when I was doing it in my early twenties but ten years later it’s done me in!! I’m going to have to stop until they heal because it hurts every time I attempt now 😭 so sad.

I loved the high energy boxing as I could do that and if I had time a second. Unfortunately the dvd no longer works.....

Hazelflies · 30/01/2021 08:59

@superram some of the really old ones are pretty cheap on Amazon. Unfortunately super body workout is sold out so I had to order that second hand, it was too scratched to play without freezing so I got a refund and ordered another second hand one. Fingers crossed this one works!

I've noticed that you can get exercise DVDs v cheaply on Facebook market.

cherrytree63 · 10/03/2021 23:20

I still do the 7 minute HIIT workouts, recommended on here about 4 years ago.
I had them on my iPad which died recently, found some other Davina workouts on you tube, but I missed bendy man Ed and the familiarity of the workouts so bought the DVD on Ebay.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 11/03/2021 12:39

I loved Davina's DVDs! But same as a few others, we don't have a DVD player set up any more as it proved too much of a temptation to the DC's small sticky fingers so I'd have to play them on my old and temperamental laptop. Like a PP though I only liked the Jackie and Mark ones, bought a newer one with a different instructor and was very disappointed!

BreakfastOfWaffles · 11/03/2021 12:49

I picked up Fit in 15 for 50p in the Game Exchange. This thread has motivated me to try it out!

scentoflilacs · 13/03/2021 15:36

Yes! I did Power of 3 for the first time in years last week and thought it was much better than the fitness YouTuber workouts that I’ve been following for the past year. I got really good results doing her DVDs years ago so will start doing them regularly again once the children go back to school this week.

scentoflilacs · 13/03/2021 15:37

And I have all the DVDs with Jackie and Mark. I got the first one without them but wasn’t as keen.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 13/03/2021 22:45

Does anyone subscribe to the Davina OYG website? I was wondering if any of the old workout DVDs are on there?

Good tips about picking them up cheaply secondhand. I may even try to work out how to set up our DVD player again! Although I fear it is beyond my technological capabilities
