Could anyone please recommend any thick exercise leggings which are also available in short leg lengths?

When you say thick leggings, what do you need - do you mean warm? Not see-through? As, as a rule, thick leggings aren't what you'd want for running...

Decathlon trail running leggings are fab. Lots of pockets, windproof, water resistant and come in different leg lengths

fellrunner85 I don't mean fleecy ones or anything, I just much prefer a slightly thicker fabric to the touch, rather than the thin flimsy ones - even in the summer!

Thank you Everybody I will have a search on their site if they are on the thicker side.

ASICS are the best by a country mile

I get on well with Decathlon. I'm 5ft 2.
Winter gear tends to be "run warm"

Decathlon.

Or The Gap Blackout (in the sale). Sturdy.

Thanks for the replies, I will Google all the suggestions!

Another who suggests decathlon.

I've never gone wrong with sports wear from there.

Have to say though I've also found Tesco's stuff wearing hard wearing and good price.

I really like the Gap ones. The ones that say they're 'compression' are really good. I think that might be what you're after. They come in different lengths and petite fit too. Lots on sale at the moment.

I love some of my decathlon kit but i've also found some of their leggings to completely transparent once on! They fitted me fine and I couldn't have worn a size bigger but they left nothing to the imagination when stretched!
If you like funky patterns then Tikiboo and Sturdy by Design are good thick fabric and "squat proof".
