What have I done?! Encouragement needed!

Oh my. Desperate to start getting a little of my life back on track following two kids and a move to a new country I registered for a beginners trail running group.
At the time it sounded good- meet people, stay accountable, learn new skills etc. now I'm wondering what I've done.
I have been back running for about 6months now a few times a week when I can fit in around everything else. But I have no confidence. I'm still not where I was in terms of fitness or weight pre DC2, largely because of covid limitations and all the added juggling/restrictions/working from home.
Tell me it will be alright and I won't make a total fool of myself?!

They will all be beginners and everyone will be supportive.

My dad has been part of a running club for 40 odd years and loves it. He tells me that their beginners group is lovely.

Thanks. I have never run with anyone else and know I'm being a bit silly but can't help worrying I'll be so far out of my comfort zone, or that I'll faceplant and be a laughing stock!

You won't, OP—my guess is that there will be people better than you and people far worse. I'm sure you'll be fine!

Also, if in the enormously rare chance that you face plant and they all point and laugh like an early 90s movie, you can always leave and never come back again. That is meant to be encouraging! You have total control here—these are (I'm sure friendly) strangers.

Go for it.
