Recommendation for waterproof jacket/over trousers

I've been having a look online for really good waterproof clothing as I am getting more into long distance walking.

Can anybody recommend any jackets/over trousers that are heavy duty waterproof?

You should look at the sailing section. You can't get anything more waterproof than that. Would these do?

I have some berghaus ones that have lasted me years in an outdoor job. Zips and poppers up the side and very useful when it comes to taking them off and not overnight everything else in mud!

I bought a pair of Peter Storm over trousers on a whim about a month ago... They were 8quid on Blacks. I love them! I sized up although there was probably no need as I mainly wear leggings (or 2 pairs if I am super cold).
They are lightweight and easily packable. Cheap enough for a spare pair in the boot for sidelines etc.
