Run this morning. Does it ever get easier?

Hope you're feeling better again today Roonetta.

roonetta · 20/04/2021 11:38

Thanks for the good wishes ladies, I am back to my normal self today.

Epic day 50 done! I really enjoyed that one (helped by the fact there were no burpees and a confetti cannon at the end Grin).

I know what you mean about the length of the workouts Sophie. I am just a bit terrified of Epic Heat after watching a couple of the workouts as they seem to incorporate the only thing I didn't like about Epic which is the cardio. Having said that, day 1 of Epic 2 is a 40 minute HIIT workout so I might have chosen badly. How are you finding it?

I agree nothing ever seems to get easier Motherforkin, although I can't comment on running as I look like Phoebe from Friends am useless at it Grin

SophieLion · 20/04/2021 13:13

I just watched that Friends episode the other day Roonetta GrinGrin

Congrats on finishing Epic!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I'm finding Epic Heat ok. The level of difficulty is more like end of epic than the start. And there are little bits of cardio mixed with strength: eg one of the trisets today was something like BW jumping lunges 30 secs, alternative lunges with weights then another type of lunge with dumbbells. So you got the cardio bit in with the jumps. But that's not all the time. It's a little bit more intense (because the workouts are shorter) but again it really depends on the weights you use too. Yesterday for triceps and chest she was using something crazy like 15kg!!!

OublietteBravo · 21/04/2021 08:21

I had an unplanned rest day on Monday, and then totally forgot to record yesterday’s exercise. I was obviously overcome with the excitement of finishing Ri30 Grin

KAbs L3D8 and Ri30 L4D10 (60 min)

Heat day 8 back and biceps plus lilly sabri for lower abs.

I am amazed at how heavy CG can lift Sophie. I want to be like her when I grow up Grin

Star for finishing Ri30 Oubliette. What’s next?

I was going to start Epic 2 today but an unexpected outage of my WiFi meant I had to go into the office. Instead I did Workout 7 of BR when I got home as I remembered how hard I found it. Yep, still hard BlushBlush. Thought it would make sense to start Epic 2 on Monday and actually do the workouts on the days they are listed. Not sure what I will do between now and then, maybe some more Jillian.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/04/2021 17:57

I'm giving the beginner's epic another try so day one today. It was less awful than the first time I tried it, which was positive Grin

OublietteBravo · 21/04/2021 20:58

I’m not quite sure what I’ll do next @roonetta. This evening I did NMTZ D10 (50 min). I might finish 6W6P/KAbs (so far I’ve only done 8 days of each level)

(90/160; 92h 00min)

Hill run and a sea dip this morning. I slowed right down and managed to do each of the up hill/stepped sections without stopping which felt good.

SophieLion · 22/04/2021 13:14

Epic heat day 9 (total body callisthenics) and lilly abs today.

So you didn't find BR any easier after 10 weeks of epic Roonetta? I realised the other day that I can do a grand total of 9 proper push ups now (maybe I could have got a 10th but the 30 seconds was up) - I could barely do 1 before epic so I definitely got stronger.

How is the shoulder MotherForkin?

How do you structure your exercise program oubliette? Do you do 19 days on each Level of a workout? And they are 10 consecutive days or whenever you happen to do them?

Our schools are most likely opening on 10 May after east hols!!!!!!

Days exercised 95

OublietteBravo · 22/04/2021 20:05

I sort of assume that 10 days per level is about right for Jillian and gradually work my way through @SophieLion. I don’t really have a structure - I mostly see what I can face doing on any given day!

6W6P L1D9 and KAbs L1D9 (65 min)

(91/159; 93h 05 min)

SophieLion · 23/04/2021 07:59

Yes I think Jillian talks about 10 days on each level a lot oubliette. 19 days was a typo in my previous post!

Day 10 epic heat (dumbbell HIIT) plus a 10 min Caroline girvan abs workout. Didn't fancy running yesterday so moved all my girvan workouts up by a day. Will do my run over the weekend.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/04/2021 14:47

Everyone must be thrilled at the prospect of getting back to school, Sophie. I hope it works out.

My shoulder is improving, thanks. The major issue is mostly fixed but it caused some muscle wasting which has left my shoulder blade unstable so the plan is to get that sorted now. And it means modifying every workout I do Hmm I skipped day two of beginner epic as it was upper body and I could manage about 2 sets of the full routine, so I did day 3 which was core and abs. And a 20 min alternating skipping/legs intervals thing. And my shoulder rehab.

Happy weekend.

OublietteBravo · 23/04/2021 19:59

I did a rather reluctant session this evening: KAbs L2D9 and 6W6P L2D9 (65 min)

(92/158; 94h 10min)

OP posts:
roonetta · 23/04/2021 20:07

I did find BR a little easier in that I could lift heavier weights, even my 5s for some of it. However I found having no rest intervals, coupled with the short cardio bursts hard Sophie. I can definitely do more proper push ups now and even managed the single leg ones in BR. Thought I would be ‘fitter’ though, if that makes any sense Confused. Great news about the schools!

Glad the shoulder is on the mend Motherforkin

Rest day yesterday and a Caroline Girvan 30 minute dumbbell workout, for which I could definitely have used heavier weights. Birthday soon, so hopefully will have some extra money to get new weights.

Run this morning. I had a glass more than I intended last night so I was expecting it to be pretty hairy but it was one of my best feeling runs in a long time Confused. The more I run the less I understand it.

roonetta · 24/04/2021 15:39

Nice one Motherforkin Star

Caroline Girvan 1 hour full body workout done ☑️

Sounds like a great run MotherForkin!! Wish I could say the same re my run today 😆😆 Sounds like your shoulder is slowly getting there - good to hear.

Yes yes get what you mean Roonetta re fitness. Still I am very much enjoying epic and I like the strength focus as with the running and Jillian I have been more cardio based for a long time.

And yes I am over the moon that schools will finally open!!!!

Rest day yesterday. Today 7km interval run plus lilly sabri lower abs workout.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 25/04/2021 11:34

Short hill run early this morning but it was a nice way to start the day. I went for a dip afterwards but between a big swell and the tow being too strong when I still can't swim properly, it ended up being a very wet paddle.

SophieLion · 26/04/2021 08:09

Epic heat day 11 glutes and hamstrings.

OublietteBravo · 26/04/2021 09:43

I had a couple of rest days. I had my covid vaccination on Saturday, so took yesterday a an extra rest day. Although aside from feeling slightly tired and having a bit of a sore arm I seem to have got away without any appreciable side effects. Which makes me feel very fortunate.

OP posts:
MotherForkinShirtBalls · 26/04/2021 10:42

Good to hear you got your vaccine, Oubliette and the side effects were minimal.

I did day 4 of beginner epic, but with very light weights (5kg and 1.5kg). Happy to report that my shoulder didn't grumble about it. I might try it again later in the week with slightly heavier ones.

roonetta · 26/04/2021 13:19

Great news on the vaccine Oubliette. Glad you weren't out of action for long.

Glad to hear your shoulder held up Motherforkin. I also like how you refer to 5kgs as 'very light weights', gulp! Hope it continues to improve.

Epic 2 day 1 HIIT/low intensity cardio. So, HIIT for 20 minutes followed by 20 minutes of 'low intensity' cardio (not my definition of low intensity but never mind!). I had another rest day yesterday to prepare myself and glad I did.

Days exercised 83

OublietteBravo · 26/04/2021 20:13

Today I thought Abs would be a fairly gentle post-vaccine session - but I forgot how many plank/side plank exercises there are in Jillian DVDs Shock. Anyway, I managed KAbs L3D9 and 6W6P L1D10 (65 min)

(93/157; 95h 15min)

Glad the vaccine went well oubliette. Was that the Astra Zeneca? Apparently a lot of elderly people didn't take the AZ here so they have opened it up to younger groups which means I could have AZ vaccine one of these days. If I want to wait for my age group and Pfizer vaccine then Probably another month or two. DH can get the Pfizer one now though as older age group. I preferred Pfizer because everyone I know who had side effects had the AZ. Tempted to do AZ and be done with it so can travel....and hope I'm as lucky as you with the lack of side effects!!

Good your shoulder is holding up MotherForkin. Smile

My friend just started epic 2 Roonetta. Think she also did day 2 yesterday. So will be interested In how you find the program. It seems a different format days - wise to epic and epic heat.

Today Epic heat day 12 (upper body) and lilly sabri abs.
