I think 8kg is a good call Sophie. It’s amazing how quickly I got used to the 5kgs when I could barely lift them to start with. I’m enjoying it too. I like the more relaxed pace of the workout (apart from the HIIT obviously).

Hope you get positive news from the physio Motherforkin 💙

Epic day 20 dumbbell HIIT.

Days exercised 48

OublietteBravo · 09/03/2021 19:52

I’d just like to point out that the reason I can manage an hour is possibly linked to the fact that my heaviest weights are only 3kg. I’m in awe at anyone using 5kg or 8kg

Cardio for me thus evening: BFBM (50 min)

(57/193; 59h 30min)

Day 28 epic (posterior chain - a part of my body I really enjoy working out). Was quite long - all of them have been quite long this week.

I don't think you can compare JM and Caroline girvan oubliette re weights. JM
Does so many combo moves that target many different body parts so it's hard (for me anyway) to use heavier weights. Girvan does simpler moves so you focus on one set of muscles and target your weights to that muscle only (although with the RDLs today - there were A LOT - I had to go to lower weights sometimes because my lower arms hurt).

Sorry to hear about the plantar fascitis MotherForkin. Thanks Good luck with the physio.

I could never use my 5kgs while doing Jillian. I would probably have done some serious damage 😳. In fact I used to struggle using 3s.

Not gonna lie, I had to Google posterior chain Sophie. I think my back is really weak and always aches a lot after working it. I don’t feel like it is getting any stronger either.

Epic day 21 leg workout, dumbbell complex. That was HARD!!

OublietteBravo · 10/03/2021 19:05

Feeling more motivated today (isn’t it funny how motivation waxes and wanes). Ri30 L2D7 and 6W6P L2D4 (65 min)

I didn't know what the posterior chain was either Roonetta. Learn lots of new vocabulary with epic too!

I'm considering not counting my exercise days anymore. Not sure why I'm doing it as don't have a target. Will have a think (big decisions SmileWink)

Today a relaxing stretchy yoga session as all my muscles felt a bit stiff and sore.

Days exercised 60 (a nice round number seems a nice point to stop counting!)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/03/2021 14:38

The physio said I'm improving (which to be fair I knew, I didn't realise how limited my range of motion had been) but I still have to be very careful. I'm allowed do bent over rows with 1kg weights for the next 2 weeks and I might be able to increase to 2 kg after that 😅 she has said that breast stroke when I'm swimming will be good so at least there's that.

Running today. A friend and I are going to do the epic workouts together over zoom so we're starting them tomorrow.

Interesting that you're thinking about not counting anymore Sophie. Some days i find it very liberating not to count but other days my competitive side comes out and I have a deep need to rate myself Blush

OublietteBravo · 11/03/2021 20:43

Glad to hear you’re improving @MotherForkinShirtBalls - slow and steady is definitely the way to go.

KAbs L1D4 and Ri30 L2D8 (65 min)

Yes I think it would be more relaxed not to count MotherForkin- I feel a bit anal sometimes counting my exercise days - especially now when I'm counting the epic days too. And seeing as I don't have a target in mind, I wonder why I'm counting!!

Hope you enjoy Epic too MotherForkin. Good to hear shoulder is improving.

Epic day 29 today (full body).

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/03/2021 13:12

I tried the beginners epic today. Bloody hell it's hard! It's been a few months since I did any weight training (even body weight) and I seem to have lost any strength i had. I will have to skip around the upper body days though, shoulder definitely not up to them unfortunately.

Happy weekend everyone.

OublietteBravo · 12/03/2021 19:18

NMTZ (50 min). It’s horrible and wet and windy. I’m going to light the fire and enjoy staying in!

That sounds lovely and cosy oubliette Smile

It's always tough when you take time off MotherForkin. I'm sure you'll be back to normal soon though.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/03/2021 22:32

Hope you're enjoying the fire Oubliette. Dh was on a call until 9.30 so I didn't bother and now my nose is cold Grin

roonetta · 13/03/2021 11:59

Hope you enjoy Epic Motherforkin - glad you are on the mend 😃

Epic day 22 shoulders and core done

Days exercised 50

SophieLion · 14/03/2021 09:12

Day 30 epic. EMOM (every minute on the minute) HIIT. Was enjoyable as a new format to me but exhausting and the push up section at the end killed me. Was 5 mins before I could get up to stretch.

Days exercised 62

roonetta · 14/03/2021 18:01

Happy Mother’s Day to you lovely ladies 💖

Epic day 23 abs and glutes done. Found it much more effective with a proper band, so glad I bought it. I see that Caroline Girvan is starting ‘Epic Heat’, another 10 week programme on 5th April, which are all 30 minute workouts Sophie. Sounds right up our street.

Days exercised 51

SophieLion · 15/03/2021 08:17

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day!

Decided to carry on counting my exercise days because I do feel a sense of achievement when I look at the number of days I've exercised. Abs I like it!

Today epic day 31 glutes and abs. I found this tough and it seemed to take forever - think it was me though as feeling tired and headache-y. Oh she didn't use a band today Roonetta. And yes I saw epic heat. Also intrigued by epic 2 - but let's finish epic 1 first Grin

Days exercised 63

roonetta · 15/03/2021 11:55

I don't take much notice of my days exercised if i'm honest. I will continue to put them so I know when/if I reach my goal (which I have forgotten, so will have to look back in thread Confused).

Epic day 24 full body workout done. I might be able to catch up a bit this week now the kids are back at school and my DH is back at work. First day in ages I have had the house to myself Smile

Days exercised 52

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 15/03/2021 17:03

I had a very lazy weekend, partly because of the doms pain from the beginner epic last week! I could barely climb the stairs 🤣 I looked through the other days and unfortunately I don't think I'll manage any of them yet so I did the legs day again today. I may not be able to get out of bed in the morning!

OublietteBravo · 15/03/2021 19:38

I had two rest days over the weekend - mostly because I was feeling unusually tired. (Although I did manage 20,000 steps on both Saturday and Sunday). Back to exercising this evening: Ri30 L2D9 and KAbs L2D4 (65 min)

(61/189; 63h 35min)

Epic day 32 obliques and shoulders

Days exercised 64

roonetta · 16/03/2021 13:35

How were your legs Motherforkin? I have some new pains every day at the moment.

Hope you're feeling less tired Oubliette

Epic day 25 - HIIT full body workout (60 exercises!) I actuallly liked this one, even though it was longer than her usual HIIT.

Days exercised 53

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 16/03/2021 13:59

Legs are ok today, Roonetta, and I had a run this morning so hopefully they will be ok tomorrow too (second day is always worse i find). Weather is glorious so I might go for a swim this evening if I can get out.

OublietteBravo · 16/03/2021 19:56

KAbs L3D4 and Ri40 L2D10 (65 min). Time to move up to level 3 of Ri30. I can’t currently remember what is evil about that level. Perhaps ignorance is bliss Grin

Duck walks oubliette Winkactually the whole first strength circuit is a quad killer!

Well done Roonetta - halfway through epic!!
