Fitness Trackers/Something

Hi,
Can anyone recommend me a good fitness tracker - probably mid range/not the most expensive.

I did couch to 5k over the 1st lockdown and now love running and just want something to track my steps and just keep me focused on getting exercise especially now I'm working at home.

I got a bit lost looking at all the Fitbits and my husband suggested a Garmin as that's what he uses so wondered if anyone had any to recommend.

I'm not keen on having my phone out with me when I'm running as have nowhere to carry it, so not sure if one that doesn't have built-in GPS would work if I wasn't connecting it to my phone?

Many thanks for any help.

Hi @PracticalTacticalBrilliance I have used Garmin for several years now. My current one is the vivoactive 4S. My partner has the apple watch and whilst that has some interesting health data I much prefer my Garmin. The Garmin Connect app is really easy to use and whilst no fitness tracker is 100% accurate by wearing mine all the time I can use data like resting heart rate to work out when I need to take a longer rest period. The period tracker has been a blessing too as I often lose track of where I am in my cycle!

I also have the garmin vivoactive, it's brilliant, I went from a fitbit versa lite which I reallt didn't like, was a nightmere to sync to my fine, really pleased with the garmin

Ah that's really helpful, thank you both. I will investigate!

I use a Polar watch rather than a Garmin, but sports watches are much better when you want to record individual activities and compare progress. More accurate than trackers and phone based apps.
