I used to be a real exercise nut. Either bootcamp or running or netball almost every day. I loved the mental boost as well as feeling fit and toned. Diet was so-so, lots of veg but I've always had a sweet tooth. I more or less are what I what I liked as I was he really moving a lot.
Fast forward I have a 4 year old and a 12 month old. How times have changed.
I feel like such a cliche.
A stone heavier. No time for myself.
Eating on the go. Lots of sugar. Exhausted.
Energy levels terrible.
During the week I look after the baby two days and I work 3 days in a very full-on professional role. I feel like I have no free time... could I find time? If I ever do have an unexpected 15 minutes I have a cup of coffee and breathe.
I'm missing exercise though and I want to lose some weight. Where do I start? And where do I get the time? The motivation? Do I start with baby steps or aim for a full 'plan'?
DH works full time. I know he'd like to get more exercise in too.
I started netball training once a week in September but that's obviously stopped now.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and how did you move forward?

Honestly .... couch to 5K kicked my arse.

I knew I couldn't always sustain a fixed plan so if I missed a run, I would just pick up again.

I've lost a stone too Wink

Could you both exercise for half an hour or 45 mins once kids are asleep? I’ve just downloaded the Les Mills On Demand app and it has lots of different workout options, depending on what you like. If you can stream it to the tv, you could do it together. Maybe invest in a few weights and do some of the resistance training classes too? Weight lifting is brilliant for building muscle and burning fat.

My husband and I are currently doing it together and it’s lovely to have a new shared interest and to motivate each other. A month in, we no longer miss the extra bit of tv time and feel so much better in ourselves. The app is great for variety so you’re unlikely to ever be bored - we love Body Combat and boy does it work you!
