Missing Fell Runner

In these cases it is usually an inexperienced or ill-prepared walker but this man was super experienced GB level.

One thing puzzling me, do they not have a garmin location trace or similar? I do not know many runners, especially serious ones, that run “tech naked”. Do you always trace your runs?

Yes I would expect a GPS watch - probably a Garmin or a Suunto. Bit if he fell it might have smashed, and it's always possible that he just went out without much charge in it and it went flat.

I how he's found safe somewhere - it's still possible that he's injured and unable to reach help by himself.

That poor man and his poor family. So sad. Not a dangerous area either and as you said such an experienced athlete.
